Does Every Child Really Need Summer Coaching?

At the end of last term, my child's teacher asked me:

"Will your child be resuming for the summer coaching?"

As a parent and a teacher, that question stayed with me.

It made me wonder...

Does every child really need extra lessons?

Or have we started believing that children must always be in a classroom to keep learning?


Don't get me wrong.

Some children genuinely benefit from extra support. Others may need help catching up or preparing for a new class.

But for many children, the holiday can also be a time to read for fun, play, explore, learn life skills, spend time with family, and simply be children.

Maybe the real question isn't:

"Is your child attending summer coaching?"

Maybe it's:

"What will your child be learning this holiday?"

Because learning doesn't only happen behind a desk.

Parents and educators, what do you think?

Why Do Many Children Tell Their Mothers Everything... But Stay Quiet Around Dad?

It's not because they love Dad less.

Sometimes, it's simply because Mum is the one they talk to the most.

Children often open up to the person who regularly listens, asks questions, laughs with them, and makes them feel heard.

The good news?

That can be Dad too.

A father doesn't build trust in one big conversation.

He builds it in the little moments: Walking together. Driving together. Playing together. Eating together. Simply asking, "What makes you happy?" and really listening.

Children don't just need a father who provides.

They also need a father they can talk to.

Fathers, your voice matters. But so does your listening.
