الشيخ ابن حبان الشافعي (345ق) في كتاب الثقات، عندما يصل إلى إسم الإمام علي بن موسي الرضا (عليهما السلام) يقول:
"قبره بسناباذ خارج النوقان مشهور يزار بجنب قبر الرشيد، قد زرته مراراً كثيرة وما حلت بي شدة في وقت مقامي بطوس فزرت قبر علي بن موسى الرضا (صلوات الله على جده وعليه) ودعوت الله إزالتها عنى إلا أستجيب لي وزالت عنى تلك الشدة وهذا شيء جربته مرارا فوجدته كذلك أماتنا الله على محبة المصطفي وأهل بيته (صلى الله عليه وسلم الله عليه وعليهم أجمعين).."
Shaykh Ibn Ḥibbān al-Shāfiʿī (d. 345 AH), in his book al-Thiqat, when he reaches the entry of Imām ʿAlī ibn Mūsā al-Riḍā (peace be upon him), says:
“His grave is in Sanābādh, outside al-Nawqān. It is well known and is visited, next to the grave of al-Rashīd. I have visited it many times. Whenever a hardship befell me during my stay in Ṭūs, I would visit the grave of ʿAlī ibn Mūsā al-Riḍā (may God’s blessings be upon his grandfather and upon him), and I would supplicate to God to remove it from me, and my supplication would be answered and that hardship would be lifted from me. This is something I experienced repeatedly and always found to be so. May God cause us to die upon love for al-Muṣṭafā and his Household (may God’s peace and blessings be upon him and upon them all).”
