Here is another aspect of leadership we need to be aware of: your mistakes have the potential to hurt others. You’re not just accountable to those who are over you; you’re responsible for those under you. If your good decisions have the ability to bless and guide people, your bad decisions have the potential to harm them.

Think about it!

TAKE TIME TO LISTEN

When you take the time to listen to someone, really take the time to listen properly; it shows you value the person, which is the ultimate form of respect. If you look bored or interrupt the person while they are speaking, you’re showing that you don’t really care what the person has to say.

Listening is a core aspect of leadership; many people in leadership positions don’t listen, they may be hearing, but they are not listening. To become an effective leader, you must close your mouth sometimes and truly listen to your team.

You should never be too busy to listen because it’s the ultimate form of respect anyone can give to another human being

Don't send a lousy, lazy email to reject a candidate after you have interviewed them. This only reflects badly on you. If this is how you manage potential new recruits, well this message is for you.

We've just heard of a terrible candidate experience with a large branded MNC Tech Player. The candidate had 5 interviews and waited 4 weeks between the last interview and the final call.
Obviously, she was unsuccessful but didn't receive a phone call from the hiring manager or the internal recruiter; she received a lousy email.

I think it's appalling when you take a candidate through a long engaging process only to ghost them or even reject them via a lazy email.

This candidate was quite distressed by this experience. And if the CEO only knew that this is the "Customer / Candidate" experience. Companies work so hard to get the Customer Experience right but forget that the Candidate is also the Customer.

Do unto others as you have them do unto
you.

If you are a hiring manager and you have just interviewed a candidate 2,3,4 times, call them to tell them why they won't progress. Give them the respect of your time. Internal Recruiters alike.

Sending emails isn't enough. We are in the people game and we need to lead with empathy and respect.

Less animal and more human.

We Rise by Lifting Others

When you help others, your life starts to have meaning and purpose. Real joy comes not from material possessions but from people. When we give our hearts in kindness and love, we get the riches of the universe, and the greatest of these is happiness.

When you’re generous with others, you feel abundant; your life feels fertile and rich with possibility. Remember, leadership is all about people inspiring people to believe in the impossible, to believe in themselves, and to become the very best version of themselves.

When your leadership is all about service to others, you automatically become someone of value, and as a result, the fruits of generosity rub off as an abundance mindset and support you to be more wealthy in all areas of your life.
