Introducing the Inaugural POKV Fellows Council
Every strong institution is sustained by its community.
Over the past few years, Pop Culture Varsity has grown into a learning platform where marketers, strategists, founders, and cultural thinkers come together to deepen how they interpret culture and apply strategy in the real world.
As the alumni community continues to expand, it became important to create a leadership structure that helps guide this network and keep the conversations, collaborations, and initiatives moving forward.
Today, we are pleased to introduce the inaugural Pop Culture Varsity Fellows Council, a group of alumni who will help steward the growth of the community over the next two years.
Please join us in congratulating:
🚩 Eyo Inameti — President
🚩 Tobenna Chukwuma — Vice President
🚩 Halimah Yusuf — Director of Alumni Relations
🚩 Tochukwu Okonta-Nathaniel Okonta — Director of Strategy & Programs

🚩 Ademola Ojomoyela — Director of Communications
🚩 Olapeju Oladimeji — Director of Treasury
🚩 Damilola Kawojue — Director of Events & Experience

Black culture has always functioned as a market creation engine — generating demand, shaping taste, and establishing the behavioural patterns that commerce later formalizes.
The structural question is not whether Black builds markets. The data is consistent across beauty, music, street wear, and digital culture. The question is who designs the ownership architecture once the market exists.
Cultural origin and economic capture have historically sat in different hands. Closing that gap requires more than visibility. It also requires IP control, distribution leverage, and governance rights built at the point of creation, not negotiated after the fact.
Productivizing culture means treating identity as an economic input, not a marketing output. That is where the real strategy work begins.

Excellence showed up in three distinct ways in the Genisys cohort.
• Best in Strategic Planning
• Best in Cultural Fluency
• Overall Best — Our Pop Culture Rockstar
Different strengths. Same standard.
The Genisys Cohort didn’t just complete a program but also demonstrated what it means to think structurally, interpret culture intelligently, and execute with clarity.
This is what applied strategy looks like.

🚨Over the past eighteen months, the nature of strategy work has shifted in visible ways.
AI tools now generate campaign ideas, positioning territories, and media logic in minutes. Clients experiment with prompts before meetings. Founders build brands using templates that once required agencies. Ex*****on has accelerated. Access to frameworks has widened.
At the same time, categories are converging. Financial services brands operate like media companies. Telcos compete in lifestyle and entertainment. Creators launch product lines with distribution embedded from day one. The structures that once made planning linear are less stable.
In this environment, fluency is common. Speed is common. What is less common is depth — the ability to interrogate assumptions, connect developments across sectors, and design choices that endure.
This is where many careers plateau. Output increases. Judgment does not always compound at the same rate.
The next phase of advantage will belong to those who intentionally expand their analytical range and revisit first principles rather than simply producing faster work.
That is the context for the Nexus Cohort beginning in March 2026 at Pop Culture Varsity. The emphasis is disciplined thinking, cross-sector awareness, and strategic clarity suited to the market we are actually operating in.
If you are assessing the next five years of your career, this is a timely moment to examine whether your thinking is evolving alongside the environment around you.

Before the certificate, there’s the work.
Every page in that scrapbook represents uncomfortable questions, sharper thinking, rewrites, and real strategic tension. Nothing here was aesthetic for the sake of it nmhn it was built through process.
At the Mini MBA in Strategy & Pop Culture, we teach you how to think in systems, interpret culture with clarity, and defend your ideas with structure.
It’s intellectual growth you can hold in your hands.

Moments like this are why we do the work.
A certificate is symbolic, but what it represents is depth, discipline, and demonstrated
competence.
The Mini MBA in Strategy & Pop Culture is built on participation,
application, and accountability.
