The Workplace…
Pheney an employee of IBX Packaging Ltd, a well-known company in the product packaging industry, manages the packaging section for consumer products.
Competition in this space has been increasing with the introduction of uniquely designed creatives and cutting-edge artworks using technology. This placed huge responsibility on Pheney to ensure they don’t lose their loyal customers to competition.
With this high expectation, she became confused not knowing what to do, but immediately sought for some advice from a friend-colleague in another department who recommended that she should take up some personal trainings on the new technology to improve her work.
Pheney thought of the financial implication, though quite affordable for her, instead she believed that the company be responsible for staff training and should foot the bill. She made the proposal to her direct boss, but sadly, it was turned down as there was no provision for this in the year’s budget.
This did not reduce the pressure on her. Unfortunately, customer churn rate began to grow tremendously, which also was affecting the profitability of that department negatively.
It got to a point where the company was considering a down-size but due to her years of commitment, she was given a second chance to turn things around.
The situation was really getting worse, but her only option was to consult her team members for their creative ideas. Although previously, she had trusted only in her own judgements for designs and under-rated that of her colleagues, unknown to her that some of them had been developing themselves with new skills.
BOOM🔥🔥🔥 that was all she needed. Jobs started pumping in like wildfire as customers’ confidence on the company was again restored. With the sudden spike in profit and impressive performance, the company’s board honoured the team members with commendation letters and promotions.

▶ Your dedication to the organization may be what will save you in the days of trouble. People are watching.
▶ Technology is disrupting everything. Say NO to mundanity and embrace changes.
▶ Your success may be in the hands of your team members. Believe in them and encourage them.
For Team members
⏹ Your contribution to the team is key to its success. Don’t take it for granted.
⏹ Keep up with the trends in your space, it will come handy one day and you will be celebrated.
⏹ That your leader is not progressing should not stop your personal development.
For the Company
⏺ Your competition is improving daily. Invest in your staff.
⏺ A second chance can bring out the best in your staff. Don’t be quick to let go.
⏺ When you see growth, reward your staff. It will boost their confidence and loyalty.
