Verse of The Day...

Fatir 35:43

ٱسْتِكْبَارًا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَكْرَ ٱلسَّيِّئِۚ وَلَا يَحِيقُ ٱلْمَكْرُ ٱلسَّيِّئُ إِلَّا بِأَهْلِهِۦۚ فَهَلْ يَنظُرُونَ إِلَّا سُنَّتَ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَۚ فَلَن تَجِدَ لِسُنَّتِ ٱللَّهِ تَبْدِيلًاۖ وَلَن تَجِدَ لِسُنَّتِ ٱللَّهِ تَحْوِيلًا

Sahih International...

[Due to] arrogance in the land and plotting of evil; but the evil plot does not encompass except its own people. Then do they await except the way [i.e., fate] of the former peoples? But you will never find in the way [i.e., established method] of Allāh any change, and you will never find in the way of Allāh any alteration.

Tafsir Ibn Kathir...

اسْتِكْبَارًا فِي الاَْرْضِ

(They took to flight because of their) arrogance in the land,

means, they were too arrogant to follow the signs of Allah.

وَمَكْرَ السَّيِّيِ

and their plotting of evil.

means, they plotted to prevent people from following the path of Allah.

وَلَا يَحِيقُ الْمَكْرُ السَّيِّيُ إِلاَّ بِأَهْلِهِ

But the evil plot encompasses only him who makes it.

means, the evil consequences of that will come back upon them and not on others.

فَهَلْ يَنظُرُونَ إِلاَّ سُنَّتَ الاَْوَّلِينَ

Then, can they expect anything (else) but the Sunnah (way of dealing) of the peoples of old,

meaning, the punishment of Allah for disbelieving in His Messengers and going against His command.

فَلَن تَجِدَ لِسُنَّتِ اللَّهِ تَبْدِيلً

and no turning off will you find in Allah's Sunnah.

means, it does not change or alter, and this is what happens to every disbeliever.

وَلَن تَجِدَ لِسُنَّتِ اللَّهِ تَحْوِيلً



and no turning off will you find in Allah's Sunnah.

means,

وَإِذَا أَرَادَ اللَّهُ بِقَوْمٍ سُوءًا فَلَ مَرَدَّ لَهُ

But when Allah wills a people's punishment, there can be no turning back of it. (13:11)

This means, no one can remove that from them or ward it off from them.

And Allah knows best

Nobody on his deathbed has ever wished that they had accumulated more money!

Imam Nawawi said:

If a person falls into the same sin a 100 times or a 1000 times or even more, and he repents after each time, his repentance will be accepted and his sins nullified, even if he were to repent, after all his sins, just one time, his repentance would still be sound.

When the Messenger of Allah (‎ﷺ) was asked, Which of the people is best, he said: “Everyone who is pure of heart and sincere of speech.” They said: Sincere of speech, we know what this is, but what is pure of heart? He said: “It is (the heart) that is pious and pure, with no sin, injustice, rancour or envy in it.” (Narrated by Ibn Majah 4216)

May Allah grant us pure, forgiving hearts, free from grudges and rancour.
