“Your Products Are Too Expensive” — Let’s Talk About It

If you just started your online business, chances are you’ve heard this before:
“Ahh, your price is too much.”

At first, it can shake you. You start doubting yourself…
“Should I reduce my price?”
“Will people ever buy?”
But here’s the truth most people won’t tell you:

Not everyone is your customer.

When someone says your product is expensive, it doesn’t always mean your price is wrong.
Sometimes, it simply means:
They don’t understand the value yet
They are not your target audience
They can’t afford it right now

Or they are used to cheaper (often lower-quality) options

And that’s okay.

As a business owner, your job is not to please everybody.
Your job is to attract the right people and communicate value clearly.

Instead of rushing to reduce your price, ask yourself:

👉 Have I properly explained what makes my product worth it?
👉 Am I speaking to the right audience?
👉 Does my presentation reflect quality and trust?

Because let’s be honest—
People don’t just pay for products…
They pay for value, trust, results, and experience.

The same person who says “it’s too expensive” to you
may go somewhere else and pay even higher
because they perceive more value there.

So what should you do?

✔ Improve your branding
✔ Tell better stories about your product
✔ Show results, testimonials, and benefits
✔ Be confident in your pricing

And most importantly…
Don’t let price-shamers push you into undervaluing your work.

You didn’t start your business to struggle endlessly.
You started to grow, serve, and earn.

So stand firm. Refine your strategy.
And keep showing up.

The right customers will come—and they will pay.

I used to think making sales meant talking more…
Explaining everything…
Trying to convince people to see how good my product was.

But instead of getting more “yes”…
I kept hearing silence.

Or “I’ll get back to you.”

It was frustrating.

Then I noticed something I had been missing all along…

People didn’t really care about my product.
They cared about what it could do for them.

That shift alone changed everything.

I stopped pushing products…
And started focusing on the problems people were trying to solve.

And something interesting happened…

The more I connected with people emotionally,
the easier the conversations became.

Because the truth is—people don’t just buy with logic…
they buy with how they feel.

I also realized that if people didn’t trust me,
nothing I said mattered.

Not my explanation.
Not my offer.

Nothing.

So I became more intentional about showing up consistently,
sharing real results, and being genuine.

Another mistake I used to make?

Over-explaining.

Thinking more information would convince people.

But I learned—confusion doesn’t convert.
Clarity does.

And the biggest lesson of all?

Some of my best customers didn’t say yes immediately.

They watched.
They waited.
They came back later.

If I didn’t follow up, I would have lost them.

Today, I don’t chase sales anymore.
I build connection, clarity, and trust.

And the results speak differently.

Maybe if sales has been slow for you…
It’s not your product.

It might just be a small shift in approach.

Five Common Financial Mistakes to Avoid in 2026

As we step into 2026, one thing is clear: financial growth doesn’t happen by accident. It’s built intentionally—through discipline, mindset shifts, and wise decisions. Here are five common financial mistakes many people make, and how we can do better going forward.

1️⃣ Lack of Savings
This was a habit I struggled with for years.
I hid behind poor salary, too many responsibilities, and endless excuses. The truth? The issue wasn’t always the income—it was the absence of discipline.
Things began to change when I intentionally joined communities that encouraged accountability and consistency. I’m still learning, still growing, but I’m far better than I used to be.
📖 “Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider its ways and be wise.”
— Proverbs 6:6–8

2️⃣ Living Without a Budget
Spending without a plan is one of the fastest ways to stay financially stuck. When money comes in without direction, it leaves without impact.
A budget isn’t punishment—it’s permission to spend wisely and intentionally. When you tell your money where to go, you regain control.
📖 “Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Won’t you first sit down and estimate the cost?”
— Luke 14:28

3️⃣ Ignoring Multiple Streams of Income
Relying on one source of income in today’s economy is risky. Many of us were taught to depend solely on a salary, but wisdom says otherwise.
Creating additional income streams—no matter how small—builds security and opens doors for growth and generosity.
📖 “Invest in seven ventures, yes, in eight, for you do not know what disaster may come.”
— Ecclesiastes 11:2

4️⃣ Delaying Financial Education
Not knowing how money works is expensive. Many financial mistakes come from ignorance, not laziness.
Learning about savings, investments, and wealth-building may feel uncomfortable at first, but growth always starts with learning.
📖 “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.”
— Hosea 4:6

5️⃣ Making Decisions Without Patience
Quick money schemes, impulsive spending, and emotional financial decisions often lead to regret. Wealth is built steadily, not hurriedly.
Consistency over time always beats shortcuts.
📖 “The plans of the diligent lead surely to abundance.”
— Proverbs 21:5

✨ Final Thought for 2026:
Progress is better than perfection. Start where you are, use what you have, and stay committed to growth.

Business Growth Insight 💡

Healthy businesses are built on clear boundaries—especially financial ones.

When your income is clearly defined, your business gains the power to plan, reinvest, and withstand unexpected challenges. You stop guessing what you can afford and start making decisions with confidence.

Paying yourself consistently transforms income from something uncertain into something reliable. Over time, this builds trust—not just in your business system, but in you as a business owner.

Separating personal and business finances isn’t just good practice—it’s a gateway to stability, growth, and peace of mind.

✨ These are just some of the practical business lessons you’ll explore in our Masters of Business in the Street (MBS) Program—designed for real people building real businesses.
