Akades Educational Services LTD and Scholarship Projects in Alayi; my Involvement

Sometime last year, Akades Educational Services Limited reached out to me here on Facebook, indicating interest that the charity arm of the organization; Akades Foundation would like to partner with me to run a scholarship program in Alayi Igboji-Akuru Community

The decision to reach out to me has many underlying indicators but among these indicators is my stance on, and representation of Alayi Community especially in education

I agreed, we were supposed to start the same last year but unforeseen circumstances happened and we moved it to this year

So, between September and October, I received around 500k from Akades Foundation, a subsidiary of Akades Services Limited for corporate social impact in Alayi Igboji-Akuru Community

This corporate social impact as directed by the Foundation centered on ensuring that most "indigent" and none-indigent students especially those in primary, and secondary schools in Alayi acquired basic education

In this regard, the money I've received from the Foundation has been used to carry out a comprehensive scholarship project in three schools in Alayi Community

The scholarship is comprehensive in the sense that the project covered the entire terms (1st, 2nd, and 3rd terms) of the current 2023/2024 academic session

That's, the tuition fees for the entire session have been paid for, the text/exercise books for the entire session have been bought, school uniforms, school bags, two sneakers, sandals, and stockings bought including other educational materials needed for learning have all been taken care of, in addition to the money left in the hands of the Management of these schools as miscellaneous

The first six (6) beneficiaries of this comprehensive scholarship are drawn from Amaeke/Agbaekoli Community Primary School (Mkpuocha), Amakwu la Amaoku Community Primary School (Eke-okwukwa), and Alayi Secondary Commercial School (Igboji), Alayi

Akades Foundation is expanding the scholarship project to accommodate more students and hopes that before the current session finishes, or by the next session, the six (6) Community Primary Schools in Akoliufu and Amankalu parts of Alayi Community including Igboji will have students schooling under the scholarship scheme

The pictures attached tell the story of one of the formalities at Mkpuocha Primary School where some scholarship beneficiaries are drawn from
