SCHOOL SECURITY POLICY 👇

✅There should be a signing book/Movement book for parents and guardian as they drop their wards and when they come to pick them. This has to be properly monitored by the teacher on gate duty and the gatekeeper.

This method can be coined with the pick up card system,they will be given a card for identification as they sign in the morning and they are to tender this card before pick up.

✅Parents must inform the school ahead if a third party will be coming to pick their wards on their behalf.

✅A force can be deployed down to your school for effective security measure.
You get a police force or other security agency like Neighborhood (in Lagos) this will enhance safety measures and road crossing can also be helped out with the use of these forces.

For road crossing,in the absence of a force personnel,a teacher can also help with that.

✅The learners, especially the little ones should be taught "Good Touch and Bad Touch” and how to report these cases to an adult.
This will help them to notify an adult if they've been bullied or molested even right in the school(Teachers will instill this).
They should also be orientated about how to handle strangers/known neighbours or family friends when they are alone outside the school premises.

✅ During school break and closing hour should be properly monitored by teachers on duty in order to ensure safety. This is the time children gets injury if not properly monitored.

✅ Infrastructures such as a clean and drinkable water should be made available for the learners.

✅ Effective First Aid Service should be made available Incase of emergencies.

✅For no reason should a child be given to a third party without proper confirmation through call. Even if it's the learners father /mother as long they're not the usual person that do pick them up(they might have divorced or broke up,you can never tell).

Effective communication is a key skill. Master it.

Notice everything that happens in your classroom; keep anecdotal records and maintain students portfolios.

Meet all deadlines; Stop habitual procrastination; when you are at work, really focus on work.

Keep all documented & personal information of pupils & school private. Never leak school information even to prospective employers!

Avoid office gossips; be different.
Stop complaining. Take that need to the management. If it is not met and you can improvise, kindly do so.
