About Scholarship
The Beijing Government Scholarship (BGS) was established by Beijing Municipal Government, aiming to provide tuition fees fully or partially to the international students studying or applying for studying in Beijing. Its administrative office is the International Cooperation and Exchange Office of Beijing Municipal Commission of Educations, which is in charge of project establishment, review, acceptance and daily management of the Beijing Government Scholarship Program. The international students applying for the Beijing Government Scholarships shall normally submit relevant materials to the universities in Beijing that he/she hope to apply by the end of February every year.

Who is eligible?
1) Applicants must be non-Chinese nationals in good health.
2) Educational background and age limit
Applicants for undergraduate studies in Beijing must have completed senior high school with good grades and be under the age of 30. Applicants for Masters degree studies in Beijing must have Bachelor’s degree and be under the age of 35. Applicants for Doctoral degree studies in Beijing must have Master’s degree and be under the age of 40.
Applicants for advanced studies must have an undergraduate degree or be in the second year of a university course and be under the age of 50. Applicants for long term language study must have a high school diploma and be under the age of 60.
Visiting scholar candidates in Beijing must have a Masters or higher degree or hold academic titles of associate professor or higher, and be under the age of 50.
3) Requirement for the applicant’s language proficiency is based on the requirement of the academic programs and determined by the individual higher learning institution.
4) An applicant receives financial support from other Chinese government scholarship programs or organizations/agencies would not be eligible for the Beijing Municipal Government Scholarship for International Students

The Beijing Municipal Government Scholarship for International Students only covers tuition fees. According to the applicants’ status, the allowance for scholarship students can be classified into 5 types:
40,000 RMB/year for a Doctoral degree
30,000 RMB/year for a Masters degree
20,000 RMB/year/ for a Bachelor degree
10,000 RMB/year for a Senior training or long term language program
5,000 RMB/year for Exchange students or students with outstanding contributions to international education in Beijing.
Duration of Scholarships
Applicants for Bachelor, Masters and Doctoral Degrees in Chinese universities and colleges in Beijing region: duration of scholarship should be under 4 years.
Applicants for Chinese language training or relevant advanced studies in Chinese universities and colleges in the Beijing region: the duration of scholarship should be under one year.
Scholars and international students for specialized training in Chinese universities and colleges in Beijing region: the duration of scholarship should be under one year.
Exchange students or students with outstanding contributions to international education in Beijing: the duration of scholarship should be under one year.

Norwegian Government Quota Scholarship Scheme for Students from Developing Countries 2015.

Applications are now open for the 2015 Norwegian Government Quota Scholarship Scheme for students from developing countries. About 1100 scholarships will be awarded, 800 of them awarded to students from developing countries, and 300 to students from Western Balkans, Eastern Europe and in Central Asia. The scholarship are awarded to students who wish to pursue bachelors, masters and doctoral programs at universities and colleges in Norway.
The Norwegian government provides students from developing countries in the South and countries in the Western Balkans, Eastern Europe and in Central Asia with financial support to study for a degree in Norway under the Quota Scheme.
General Requirements:
As a student, you must apply directly from your home country.
You must have stayed at least one year in your home country directly prior to the planned course of study at the Norwegian university /university college.
To be Eligible to apply for the Quota Scheme, you must be able to find your home country in the List of Eligble Countries
Students usually apply for degree programmes that serve as a continuation of their studies in their home country or for courses which can be a joint part of a degree programme in their home country (joint degree or sandwich programmes).
Most of the programmes offered are at Master’s or PhD level, but the Quota Scheme also offers certain Bachelor’s study programmes.
Language Requirements: Most of the study programmes offered under the Quota Scheme are taught in English. Applicants who are not native English speakers therefore must document their proficiency in English.
All candidates should typically have the following basic qualifications:
Secondary school certificates
Minimum two years of higher education from their home country
Some exceptions apply for certain professional educational courses at Bachelor’s level.
Recruitment enrollment
The Quota Scheme will only enrol students from institutions (organisations, universities, authorities) which have collaboration agreements with Norwegian universities or university colleges.
Norwegian institutions usually do not admit free movers (individual applicants) to this scheme. Only in very special cases will free movers be considered.
Students who come to Norway as self-financing students will, as a rule, not be considered as being qualified for the Quota Scheme.
Scholarship Worth:
Each successful applicant will receive the same amount of money as a Norwegian student would do in an equivalent educational programme.
Up to 40 per cent of the amount is given as a grant and 60 per cent as a loan. However, the loan portion may be waived when the student returns to his/her home country after completing the course of study. Students who stay in Norway after finishing their studies or take up residence in another country than their home country must repay the loan.
Travelling expenses for entry into Norway may be reimbursed (fixed price).

The New Zealand Government provides New Zealand Development Scholarships (NZDS) through the New Zealand Aid Programme within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade. Type and level of scholarships
NZDS are awarded for full-time, postgraduate level study (i.e. Postgraduate Certificates, Diplomas and Masters degrees) in New Zealand. The types of course include:

Year-long Postgraduate Diplomas in areas such as Agricultural Science, Water Resource Management, and Geothermal Energy, and
Year-long Masters Degrees in subject areas such as Agri-Commerce, Resource Management, and Geothermal Energy.

To be eligible to be considered for a NZDS, applicants must:
be a citizen of Algeria, Angola, Botswana, Cameroon, Djibouti, Ethiopia, Egypt, Gambia, Ghana, Kenya, Lesotho, Malawi, Mauritius, Morocco, Mozambique, Namibia, Nigeria, Rwanda, Senegal, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Swaziland, Tanzania, Tunisia, Uganda, Zambia, Zimbabwe (i.e. permanent residents of these countries are not eligible to apply);
not have citizenship or permanent residence status of New Zealand or Australia or another developed country 1;

be applying to commence a new qualification and not be seeking funding for one already commenced in New Zealand or another country2;

Please complete two (2) New Zealand Development Scholarship application forms and attach copies of current curriculum vitae, notarised/certified copies of university certificates, transcripts and three
(3) reference letters, two (2) from academic referees and one work related, together with each application.
All application forms must be completed in English and failure to do so will lead to automatic disqualification. All supporting documents must be translated into English by an accredited translator. A 500 word statement summary in English of reasons for wishing to undertake postgraduate training in New Zealand and how the postgraduate training being sought will benefit your country must also be provided.
Applications are to be submitted to the New Zealand education institution of the applicant’s choice by 2 December 2013.
Applications received by each New Zealand education institution by 2 December 2013 will be assessed based on the selection and eligibility criteria. The education institutions will forward complete eligible scholarship applications to the New Zealand High Commission in Pretoria for final assessment. All candidates will be informed of the outcome of their scholarship application by March 2014. Short listed candidates may be required to undergo a telephone interview. If offered a New Zealand Development Scholarship, travel to New Zealand is subject to a visa being issued by Immigration New Zealand.

The Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF) is a Parastatal of the Ministry of Petroleum Resources established by Decree 25 of 1973 for the purposes of development, promotion and implementation of petroleum technology and manpower needs through research and training of Nigerians.
The Fund’s Scholarship Application website will be open between 2nd October, 2013 and 23rd October, 2013 for 2013/2014 and 2014/2015 applicants.
2013/2014:
The website is open to all applicants for the 2013/2014 academic session that experienced difficulties uploading relevant documents to their online application to attach and submit their documents. However, those who successfully applied and uploaded their documents need not apply again.
2014/2015:
The Fund is also inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates for MSc and PhD Scholarships. A combined aptitude test will be conducted for both 2013/2014 and 2014/2015 MSc applicants as well as oral interview for PhD applicants. Scholarships will be awarded to candidates that meet the selection requirements for both 2013/2014 and 2014/15 in September 2014.

Applications for the 2014-2015 Chevening Scholarships, the prestigious global scholarship program of the UK government is now open.
Scholarships will support over 600 established or emerging leaders from 118 countries worldwide. They are typically for a one-year Master’s degree in any subject and at any of the UK’s leading universities.
The programme is a United Kingdom government’s scholarship programme, funded by the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) and partner organisations. Scholars are hand-picked by British Embassies and High Commissions throughout the world, sometimes in partnership with sponsoring organization.

2013/2014 MUSTE SCHOLARSHIP (Undergraduate and Postgraduate)
The Mankind United To Support Total Education (MUSTE) is a Scholarship arm of Youth Empowerment and ICT Foundation; it was registered with the corporate affairs commission in Abuja Nigeria on the 17th of November 2003. It is founded and funded by Mr. Jim Ovia in the year 1998, to provide financial aid to outstanding Nigeria youths.
The awardees are given funding for undergraduate study for the duration of the undergraduate program. The award includes tuition and maintaince allowance. The scheme offers an average of 100 opportunities every year. The Financial records show that as at October 2010, Mr. Ovia has invested N98,220,000 in the program on one thousand, four hundred and thirty-nine beneficiaries.
The Mankind United to Support Total Education (MUSTE) program is for undergraduate and higher degree studies only.
All scholarships are awarded based on merit, using the information provided in the form, supporting documents and a screening test.
Requirements

• Have their Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination result or the equivalent

Eligibility and Criteria
All Nigerian youth are eligible for the scholarship. In the first ten years of the program, 1439 youths from all cross Nigeria have been awarded scholarship. About one hundred awardees are selected each year from a pool of four hundred applicants. Scholarships are awarded on the basis of personal intellectual ability, leadership capability and a desire to use their knowledge to contribute to society throughout Nigeria by providing service to their community and applying their talent and knowledge to improve the lives of others.
BENEFITS
The MUSTE Scholarship provides bursary to cover the cost of completing an undergraduate or higher degree program that is within 3 – 6 years. It is also subject to satisfactory academic performance in the subsequent year of the degree program. The Scholarship provides benefits for the recipient only, and intends to cover:
• Tuition
• A monthly subsistence allowance, for living expenses and books.
The MUSTE Scholarship does not cover:
• Expenses for the scholar's family.
• Expenses related to research, supplementary materials, field trip or workshops while at the university.
• INTERNATIONAL OR LOCAL TUITION FEES THAT EXCEED THE BURSARY AWARDED. This is a bursary of a fixed amount regardless of the tuition stated by the school.

• Should you be granted the scholarship, your progress report is required at the end of every academic year as well as your annual academic results. These should be sent in prior to the renewal of your scholarship.

Mentorship will be provided by Microsoft employees from around the world, and employment opportunities will include internships and both part-time and full-time jobs within Microsoft as well as with the company’s more than 10,000 partners across Africa.
Through the company’s 4Afrika Initiative and YouthSpark program, Microsoft has committed to helping millions of Africans get critical skills for entrepreneurship and employability. The 4Afrika Scholarship program is one way the company intends to meet that goal, by ensuring that promising youth have access to the education, resources and skills they need to succeed, regardless of their financial situation. To help redress gender disparity in higher education in Africa, the company is actively encouraging young women to apply.
Microsoft also announced that in the coming year, it will provide 4Afrika Scholarships to 1,000 youth to pursue associate degrees in computer science and business administration with the first participating higher education institution,University of the People, an American online university dedicated to the democratization of higher education which is affiliated with the United Nations, the Clinton Global Initiative, NYU and Yale Law School ISP.
Together with participating education institutions, Microsoft’s goal with the 4Afrika Scholarship program is to level the playing field for talented young African minds who might not otherwise have the resources, enabling them to get the education and skills they need to thrive in technology-related fields. The 4Afrika Initiative was designed to help ensure that Africa can become globally competitive, and investing in our highly motivated youth is a critical step toward making that a reality.
Students wishing to apply for 4Afrika Scholarships to attend University of the People must be at least 18 years of age, have a high school diploma and proficient English, as all its coursework is English-language. They must also have access to the Internet to be able to participate in the online classes.
To help address the connectivity issue, the company is making available working space in its Microsoft Innovation Centers in Tunisia, Tanzania, Uganda and Botswana for successful applicants near those locations. In addition, Microsoft is working with various partner hubs across Africa to make similar arrangements for students in other locations.
