Karis School

Karis School Our journey began in 2000. The vision was simple; to have a school that will produce the brightest m So we started from the very beginning.

The vision was simple; to have a school that will produce the brightest minds in the county. Our school was born out of the need to provide unparalleled care for children whose mothers worked long hours during the week by providing a good environment where they can have a pleasurable early learning experience. Under the name King’s Kiddies Montessori, we commenced business as a crèche in the living room of our founders at Plot 51A, Block 1, Emmanuel Keshi Street, Magodo Phase 2, Lagos. By April that year, we had 12 registered pupils. We soon began to expand steadily. When we enrolled 44 pupils in May 2001, we knew it was time to move. The old location was not suitable for our vision any more. We moved to a five bedroom duplex on the same street but we had to move a second time in May 2003 when enrolment grew speedily. Our second move took us out of Emmanuel Keshi street. As a result of the excellent services we rendered to our elitist clients, our founders were persuaded to extend these services to children of primary school ages. There was no place in Magodo and its immediate environs at the time with the same quality of services that we offered where the children graduating from our nursery school could continue their primary education. So we responded by starting the first grade class in September 2003. Each year since then we started the next higher class, the children in the 2003 first grade class being the nucleus of the higher class. To accommodate our rapid growth, we moved back to Emmanuel Keshi street, five years after our second move, and we have remained there ever since. The school presently occupies a land area of over 3,300 square meters with a three-floor classroom and office block built on site. We have spacious classrooms, a well furnished library, a modern science laboratory, functional and internet enabled ICT laboratory and many other amenities. To ensure the all round development of our pupils, we have a large open field and other out-door and in-door play facilities for their physical training. One thing you should know about the design of our school – it incorporates the latest thinking in planning and layout, building standards and information technology. In recognition of God’s grace towards us for the tremendous progress we made in a short space of time, our founders changed the name of the school to Karis which means ‘Grace’ or ‘Favour’. The name is a reminder that the story of Karis school can only be from glory to glory. To the glory of God, we graduated the first set of pupils from the sixth grade in 2009. Some of the students we graduated had been with us for a sizeable amount of time as they were brought to our school at the tender age of two years or less. Over the years, as parents moved to other locations, some of our pupils moved with their parents while others joined us along the way. The reports we received have shown that many of our pupils are doing excellently well in their various schools spread across the globe. Our story is indeed one of grace and favour.

A full day at Karis Summer School looks a little something like this… ☀️💙✨

We started the morning by getting our bodies moving with a fun warm-up and exercise session, because active bodies help prepare active minds. 🏃🏽‍♀️🏃🏽‍♂️

Then it was time to switch gears and get creative with technology as our pupils used design software to create their own images. 💻🎨

Next came Diction and Elocution, where they practised speaking clearly, confidently, and expressively. Because knowing what to say is important, but learning how to communicate it well matters too. 🎤✨

And to wrap up the day, we brought out the colours, paper, and imagination for Arts and Crafts, giving our pupils the chance to create something with their own hands. ✂️🖍️

Movement. Technology. Communication. Creativity.

Four very different activities, one very intentional day of learning. 💙

That is what we love about Summer School at Karis. Every day gives our pupils another opportunity to discover something new, build a skill, express themselves, and have plenty of fun while doing it.

No two hours look the same, and that is exactly the point. ☀️✨

A little throwback featuring some of your favourites, the graduating Class of 2026. 🎬🍿💙

Before the final goodbyes, certificates, speeches, and all the emotions of Graduation Day, our Grade 6 pupils enjoyed one last special outing with the Director and Head of School.

A movie treat, plenty of laughter, shared memories, and one final opportunity to simply enjoy each other’s company outside the classroom. 🥹✨

After years of learning, growing, performing, leading, and creating unforgettable memories at Karis, this was our little way of saying:

We see you. We celebrate you. And we are so proud of the young people you have become.

Because sometimes, love looks like the big milestones.

And sometimes, it looks like popcorn, a movie, inside jokes, and one last hangout with the people who have watched you grow. 🍿😂💙

To our Class of 2026, we hope you always remember just how deeply loved and celebrated you were here.

One final outing. A lifetime of memories. Once Karis, always family. 🎓✨

Little hands, big imagination, and a whole lot of creativity! 🎨✂️✨

Arts & Crafts took centre stage at Karis Summer School, and our pupils had the best time turning simple ideas into colourful creations.

Our Grade School pupils explored painting, experimenting with colour, texture, and their own artistic expression. No two pieces looked exactly the same, and that was the beauty of it. Every child had the freedom to create something uniquely theirs. 🖌️🌈

Meanwhile, our Nursery pupils got crafty with an adorable carrot paper craft, cutting, colouring, decorating, and proudly showing off their finished creations. 🥕✂️💛

Activities like these may look like simple fun, but they build so much more. Fine motor skills, concentration, creativity, confidence, problem-solving, and the joy of seeing an idea come to life with your own hands.

And judging by those proud smiles, our little artists were very pleased with their masterpieces. 😍👏🏽

Summer School at Karis is all about learning, exploring, creating, and making memories along the way.

From the field to the mic, our Summer School pupils brought the energy! ⚽🎤☀️✨

The day started outdoors with sporting activities that got everyone moving, laughing, competing, and cheering one another on. From teamwork and coordination to confidence and good old-fashioned fun, our pupils gave it their all. 💪🏽🏃🏽‍♀️🏃🏽‍♂️

And just when we thought the energy might finally come down…

Karaoke happened. 😂🎶

The microphones came out, the confidence went up, and suddenly we had singers, performers, backup dancers, and very enthusiastic audience members all in one room. 🎤💃🏽🕺🏽

That is what we love about Summer School at Karis. One moment, our pupils are building strength, teamwork, and resilience through sports. The next, they are expressing themselves freely, having fun, and creating memories with their friends.

Learning, movement, music, laughter, and plenty of unforgettable moments. That is summer at Karis. 💙☀️

Tales by Moonlight… but make it Pyjamas Day! 🌙📖🧸✨

Cosy pyjamas, curious little faces, and one very convincing “Grandpa” at the centre of it all. 😂💙

For our special storytime, one of our teachers transformed into an elderly storyteller and brought the theme “What Goes Around Comes Around” to life through a fun and memorable moral tale.

Through the story, our pupils explored the importance of kindness, honesty, good choices, and treating others the way we would like to be treated. Because sometimes, the lessons children remember most are not the ones written on a board, but the ones wrapped inside a story that captures their imagination. 📚✨

There were questions, laughter, reactions, and those thoughtful little expressions that told us the message was sinking in.

At Karis, even our themed fun days are intentional. We create experiences that entertain, teach, nurture character, and leave children with lessons they can carry beyond the classroom.

A little theatre. A little nostalgia. A lot of learning. And one very cosy Tales by Moonlight. 🌙🧸💙

Who said school and pyjamas don’t mix? 😂🛌✨

It was Pyjamas Day at Karis Summer School, and our pupils showed up ready for a day of learning, laughter, and maximum comfort! ☀️💙

From the cutest matching sets to colourful prints and cosy favourites, the school looked a little more like one big sleepover, and we absolutely loved it. 🥹😂

Days like this are part of what make Summer School so memorable. Beyond the learning, activities, and new skills, we create opportunities for our pupils to relax, express themselves, bond with friends, and simply enjoy being children.

Because some of the best memories are made in the moments that feel a little different from the ordinary. ✨

And judging by the smiles, Pyjamas Day was definitely a hit! 😍👏🏽

From curious users to confident creators. That is the goal. 🤖💡✨

Summer School at Karis is not just about keeping children busy during the holidays. It is about exposing them to ideas, skills, and possibilities that prepare them for the world they are growing into.

This week, our pupils stepped into the world of Artificial Intelligence and began exploring how technology can think, learn, respond, and support everyday life.

And just like that, AI stopped being some mysterious “future thing” and became something they could ask questions about, understand, and imagine themselves using creatively. 👏🏽

We want our pupils to grow up knowing that technology is not something to be intimidated by. It is something they can learn, question, build with, and use responsibly.

Because today’s curious learner could very well become tomorrow’s developer, inventor, digital strategist, researcher, founder, or creator of solutions we have not even imagined yet. 🌍✨

At Karis, we believe the earlier children are introduced to the language of innovation, the more confidently they can step into the future.

Science that makes you gasp, laugh, ask questions, and immediately want a turn? Yes please! 😱🧪💙

Our Grade School learners had one of those unforgettable “wait, how did that happen?” moments during Summer School as they experimented with air pressure in the Science Lab.

A transparent container was filled with water, fitted with a ball, and turned upside down. Naturally, everyone expected the water to come rushing out…

But it didn’t. 👀💦

The reactions were priceless.

Wide eyes.
Excited screams.
Curious questions.
And of course, plenty of little hands waiting eagerly for their turn. 😂🙋🏽‍♀️🙋🏽‍♂️

This is exactly why we love introducing scientific concepts through practical, hands-on experiences.

Before Science ever becomes formulas, theories, or complicated terminology, we want our pupils to first experience the wonder of discovery. To ask why. To make predictions. To test ideas. To be fascinated by something they cannot immediately explain.

Because when curiosity comes first, fear has less room to grow.

The child who is excited to experiment today is far more likely to approach Science tomorrow with confidence, curiosity, and the belief that they can understand it. 🔬✨

And judging by these faces, we definitely have some budding scientists in the making!

☀️ Haven’t joined our Summer School yet? There’s still time to get in on the learning, creativity, discovery, and FUN!
