Hi! 👋🏽 My name is Akunna Onyedire. For many years, I have served as the Founder and Head of School of White Light Montessori School. While leading the school, I have always remained closely connected to the classroom, stepping in as a class teacher whenever needed to support our educators and ensure that teaching and learning remain purposeful, current, and child-centered.
As both a school leader and educator, I have supported students in making progress beyond expectations, helping them grow in confidence and independence. I am deeply involved in curriculum development, ensuring our program remains holistic, aligned with international standards, and firmly rooted in our philosophy of educating the whole child.
Building strong teams and meaningful relationships is at the heart of my leadership. I am passionate about creating a shared school vision, fostering collaboration, supporting professional growth, and nurturing a positive school culture where educators feel valued, families feel connected, and children thrive.
I lead with high expectations and strong professional standards, working closely with the appropriate regulatory bodies while upholding health, safety, and ethical practices. Through strategic planning, sound budgeting, and school-led initiatives, I continue to support the sustainable growth of our school.
A defining part of my journey has been leading an inclusive Montessori program. White Light Montessori proudly welcomes children of all abilities, including those with special educational needs. Our authentic Montessori approach allows every child to learn, grow, and belong together in the same classrooms, with equal access to academic and social opportunities.
This is more than a school to me… it is a community, a calling, and a commitment to purposeful education.
