A Journey of Spiritual and Professional Growth: My Experience at Al-Hikmat College, Agege

A Humble Beginning (April 2009 - December 2010)

As I reflect on my journey, it all began in April 2009 when I joined Al-Hikmat College as a hostel handler. Armed with my NCE certificate in computer science and physics, I embarked on this new chapter of my life with eagerness and determination. Little did I know, this institution would become the cornerstone of my personal and professional growth.

Al-Hikmat College, renowned for its commitment to holistic education, provided me with more than just a job. It offered a nurturing environment where spiritual development was as important as academic achievement. Through regular spiritual programs and teachings, I began to cultivate a deeper understanding of faith and purpose.

Rising Through the Ranks (May 2011 - February 2017)

In May 2011, I seized a new opportunity within the college as an ICT Instructor. This transition marked the beginning of a transformative period in my career. With the support and encouragement of my colleagues and mentors, I immersed myself in professional training and personal development initiatives.

Al-Hikmat College recognized my potential and invested in my academic pursuits. When I decided to pursue a degree in computer science in 2013, the institution provided financial aid, enabling me to balance work and studies effectively. This support reaffirmed my commitment to the college and fueled my determination to excel.

Over the years, I took on various roles within the college, including Admission Officer, BECE Coordinator, and Senior School Year Tutor. Each role presented its own challenges and opportunities for growth. Through dedication and hard work, I earned the trust and respect of my colleagues and superiors.

A New Chapter (February 2017 - Present)

In February 2017, I made the difficult decision to resign from Al-Hikmat College to pursue a career in information technology. While it was bittersweet to leave behind a place that had become like a second home, I knew it was time to embark on a new chapter of my professional journey.

The foundation of spiritual and professional growth laid during my time at Al-Hikmat College continues to guide me in my current endeavors. The values instilled in me—integrity, compassion, and perseverance—serve as the bedrock of my approach to work and life.

As I look back on my journey, I am filled with gratitude for the invaluable experiences and lessons learned at Al-Hikmat College. It was not just a place of employment but a community that nurtured my mind, body, and soul. My time at the college shaped me into the person I am today, and for that, I will always be thankful.

ONIBA HOSTS LASU RECORD BREAKER, AMINAT YUSUF, GIFTS HER N2 MILLION

In attendance are Aminat and her parents, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, dean of the Faculty of Law, from where Aminat graduated, Prof. Kareem Olatoye, a member of the Governing Council of LASU and prominent son of Iba Kingdom, Hon. Tolani Sule, former Commissioner for Transport, Dr. Kayode Opeifa and Chief (Mrs.) Yeside Fagbohun, the kings of Akesan and Isolo Kingdoms, traditional rulers from surrounding communities, officials of the University and members of the Oniba's immediate and extended families were also at the event.

Aminat Yusuf, the genius Law scholar who emerged the Best Graduating Student in the 40year history of Lagos State University with a perfect CGPA of 5.0 in the ongoing 26th Convocation Ceremonies of the University, was on Sunday, 18th June 2023, hosted by the traditional ruler of Iba Kingdom, Oba Adeshina Suleiman Okikiola Raji Ashade, the Oniba Ekun of Iba, to celebrate her uncommon feat.

Indeed Success is as a result of Hard Work and every person gets what he strives for.

The entire Alumni of Al-Hikmat College congratulate and felicitate with our own very hero, Aminat Yusuf.
Aminat is a true product of the citadel of learning. She, with this achievement, have broken a new ground - a record of 40 years.
