A Message of Peace and Trust in God's Plan
The peace we experience as Christians is not given by the world, and therefore, it cannot be taken away by the world. God's peace is not reliant on our circumstances; it transcends them. It is the peace that calms our hearts even in the midst of trouble or danger, reminding us that God is always in control.
This peace is the same peace that Paul and Silas experienced in prison. Despite their chains, they sang praises instead of succumbing to fear. It is the same peace the three Hebrew children experienced when facing the fiery furnace. Even in the flames, they were unharmed, for the Son of Man came to rescue them.
What stands out in both stories is the unwavering peace they had before the deliverance came. They trusted God to save them, but even if He chose not to, they were at peace, willing to face death with the assurance that sudden death would lead to sudden glory.
Today, I, Taiwo Oluwaseye, have made a resolution in my heart: I will no longer live in fear. While I am aware of the challenges and uncertainties around me, my fear is not rooted in death. I have the assurance that if God allows it, death will lead to "sudden glory." What concerns me most is fulfilling my purpose. If I am to die fulfilling my destiny, I will die at peace. But by God's grace, I will live to fulfill my purpose and, in doing so, make heaven my home.
There is a profound beauty in knowing your enemies, recognizing that they may be plotting against you, and yet remaining calm and at peace. The secret lies in trusting in God's promises, as revealed in Psalm 37. The Word assures us:
“For the arms of the wicked shall be broken: But the LORD upholdeth the righteous. The LORD knoweth the days of the upright: And their inheritance shall be forever. They shall not be ashamed in the evil time: And in the days of famine, they shall be satisfied. But the wicked shall perish, And the enemies of the LORD shall be as the fat of lambs: They shall consume; into smoke shall they consume away.” (Psalm 37:17-20 KJV)
The phrase "And the enemies of the LORD shall be as the fat of lambs" uses a metaphor that paints a vivid image. In biblical times, the "fat of lambs" was considered a prized and abundant part of the animal, often associated with prosperity and indulgence. Yet, in this context, the metaphor carries a negative connotation.
This passage tells us that the enemies of the LORD, those who oppose His will, will ultimately come to an end. Just as the fat of lambs, which may seem rich and desirable, is consumed by fire or smoke, so too will the wicked be consumed by judgment. The phrase "as the fat of lambs" emphasizes the fleeting nature of the enemies' power—what may appear to be strength and abundance will eventually be consumed and disappear.
In essence, this metaphor underscores the certainty of God's judgment and the protection of the righteous. No matter how prosperous the wicked may seem for a time, their downfall is inevitable. God's justice will prevail.
I stand firm in the confidence that my life will magnify the Lord. I will exalt His name and testify to His goodness in the land of the living. Whatever plans my enemies may have, they will not prevail, for I trust in God's ultimate purpose. It will unfold as they have desired for me, but to their shame, not mine.
I must confess that my heart grows heavy when the Holy Spirit reveals the plans of my enemies—some of whom I have loved and trusted. But God has told me to be still and know that He is God. He has shown me that it is far wiser to love my enemies than to hate them. The true enemy is not the one you know, but the one you do not.
In God's peace, I choose to live, move forward, and trust in His faithfulness.
With all my trust in Him,
Taiwo Oluwaseye
The Enemy You Don't Know
The enemy you know is not your true enemy, but the one you don’t yet understand. Often, we focus on visible struggles or those who oppose us directly, but the real battle lies deeper—within our hearts, and in how we choose to respond to others. Jesus commanded us to love our enemies, and in doing so, we unlock a profound wisdom that leads to peace and victory.
Hatred only fuels division, encourages anger, poisons our hearts, and gradually leads to death. It might seem like a natural response, but it never brings true resolution. Love, on the other hand, has the power to heal and unite. When we choose to love, as Christ taught us, we reflect His grace and move in the power that transcends earthly struggles.
Victory comes not from fighting back with hate, but from embracing love, understanding, and forgiveness. Remember, it is in loving others—even our enemies—that we find the greatest victory, because in loving, we align ourselves with God’s will and His divine purpose for our lives.
Yours in love and faith,
Oluwaseye Taiwo
