Pep Talk

It is a short talk given to workers by their supervisor before starting a work. It also serve as a reminder of the training undergone in the past. Such a talk has to be brief and should be in a simple language that is easily understood by everyone in attendance.

Importance of pep talk

* To make known that safety has to be taken as the priority while doing their job.
*For proper planning of their jobs before commencement.
* To think and discuss about what could go wrong and how to prevent it from happening.
* Use of MSDS, tags, signage and other safety information so that one knows how to work safely.
* Workers have to focus and avoid distractions while carrying out there task.
* To ensure the tools and equipment are duely inspected to ensure they are good for the job.

Remember, the right tools should be used for the right job.
*Workers have to always follow the right procedures while doing the job. Short cut should be avoided.
*Workers should clear there doubts before attempting any work.

Safety pep talk is very necessary and our workers definitely need them as it is an easy way for foremen and supervisors to supplement the safety training efforts of their company. It also further emphasizes to workers that safety is a top priority of the company.

Observing safety moment with team

The role of PPE(Personal Protective Equipment) in construction site can not be underestimated. Know the right PPE needed for the task you are asked to carry out. Most of the supervisors are always after getting their jobs done without even considering the safety of the persons involved. Don't for any reason trade your safety for rewards, you can only enjoy the reward when you are healthy. Safeguard yourself, ask and make use of the right PPE at all time as it is the last line of defense.
