*THE WISDOM CHURCH DEVOTIONAL WITH DR JAMES ADEYEMI ON FRIDAY 22ND MAY 2026*

Topic:*A Mind to Work for God*

Text: *“And the wall was finished… for the people had a mind to work.” Nehemiah 6:15–16*

*Message*

God is looking for people with a willing and committed heart to do His work. In the days of Nehemiah, the walls of Jerusalem were rebuilt not because the people had plenty of resources, but because they had a mind to work. Their dedication, unity, and willingness made the impossible possible.

Having a mind to work for God means being ready to serve Him with joy, faithfulness, and consistency. God’s work is not only for pastors or ministers; every believer has a role to play—through prayer, giving, evangelism, helping others, serving in church, and living a godly life.

Sometimes the work of God may feel difficult. There may be discouragement, criticism, or tiredness. Yet, when your heart is fixed on God, He gives strength to continue. A willing heart attracts God’s grace and favor.

*Ask yourself:*

1.Am I available for God’s assignment?

2.Do I serve God with joy or complaint?

3.Am I using my gifts to advance God’s kingdom?

In real life, people who make impact in God’s kingdom are not always the most talented; they are often the most willing. God can use anyone who is available. A willing worker in God’s house grows spiritually, gains wisdom, and becomes a blessing to others.

*Prayer*
Lord, give me a willing heart and a mind to work for You. Help me to serve faithfully, remain committed, and never grow weary in doing good. Use my life for Your glory, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

*THE WISDOM CHURCH DEVOTIONAL WITH DR JAMES ADEYEMI ON WEDNESDAY 20TH MAY,2026*

Topic: *Don’t Be a Debtor*

Text:
*Romans 13:8-Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.”*

Debt is not only financial; it can also be spiritual, emotional, or relational. God desires His children to live wisely, responsibly, and with integrity. The Bible teaches us to avoid unnecessary debt and to honor our commitments.

Being a debtor can place unnecessary pressure on life, delay peace, and sometimes lead to poor decisions. While borrowing is not always a sin, living beyond one’s means or refusing to repay obligations can become a burden.

God calls us to stewardship — managing resources wisely, planning ahead, and trusting Him for provision rather than depending on reckless borrowing. The one debt we should continually owe is love toward others.

Today, ask yourself:

Am I managing my finances wisely?

Do I keep my promises and obligations?

Am I trusting God more than financial shortcuts?

*Key Lessons*

1.Live within your means – Avoid unnecessary spending.

2.Honor your commitments – Pay debts responsibly and on time.

3.Practice contentment – Avoid comparison and pressure to impress others.

4.Trust God for provision – Seek wisdom before financial decisions.

Financial freedom begins with wise decisions and trust in God’s provision.

*Prayer*
Father, give me wisdom to manage my resources well. Help me avoid unnecessary debt and teach me discipline, contentment, and faith in Your provision. Let me walk in financial wisdom and integrity, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

*THE WISDOM CHURCH DEVOTIONAL WITH DR JAMES ADEYEMI ON TUESDAY 19 MAY 2026*

Topic: *The Power of the Mountain Top Experience*

Text:
*“And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light. Matthew 17:2*

A mountain top experience is a special moment of encounter with God that brings transformation, direction, strength, and renewed faith. In the Bible, Jesus took Peter, James, and John to a high mountain where they saw His glory revealed. That moment changed their understanding and deepened their faith.

In life, God sometimes takes us through “mountain top experiences” through prayer, worship, fasting, church services, retreats, or difficult seasons that bring us closer to Him. These moments are not meant only for excitement but for spiritual growth and preparation for greater assignments.

However, mountain tops are not permanent places to stay. After the encounter, Jesus and the disciples came down to continue ministry and face reality. Likewise, after experiencing God’s presence, we must return stronger, wiser, and ready to handle life’s responsibilities with faith.

A true mountain top experience should produce:

1.Spiritual Transformation – becoming more like Christ.

2.Clear Direction – understanding God’s purpose.

3.Renewed Strength – courage to overcome challenges.

4.Deeper Faith – trusting God in difficult times.

5.Greater Wisdom – making godly decisions.

What was your last mountain top experience with God?

Did it transform your daily life and relationship with Him?

Are you seeking God only in trouble or continually?

*Prayer:*
Lord, take me to a deeper place in You. Let every encounter with You transform my life, strengthen my faith, and prepare me for greater purpose. Help me to remain faithful even after the mountain top experience, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

*THE WISDOM CHURCH DEVOTIONAL WITH DR. JAMES ADEYEMI ON THURSDAY 15TH MAY,2026*

TOPIC:- *THE BEST RESPONSE TO CRITICISM*

TEXT:-“ *And Jesus said, Let her alone; why trouble ye her? she hath wrought a good work on me.*”
Mark 14:6 (KJV)

Criticism is inevitable when you choose to walk in divine purpose.

In Mark 14, a woman poured her precious ointment on Jesus, and while Heaven received it as worship, men saw it as waste. The murmurs began. The judgment flowed. But Jesus our Defender, stepped in: “Let her alone.”

Beloved, the best response to criticism is not always defense ,but direction. Stay focused on the One you’re serving. Jesus called her action a “good work”, and that endorsement silenced every voice in the room.

Not everyone will understand your passion, your sacrifice, your giving, or your pursuit of holiness. Some will criticize what they don’t comprehend. But don’t let their noise drown your worship. When God is pleased, no earthly disapproval can discredit you.

Let your good work speak. Let your results answer. Let Jesus defend you. He knows the motive of your heart and the value of your sacrifice.

*REFLECTION QUESTIONS*

Am I living to please God or man?

How do I handle criticism when I know my heart is right?

Is my response glorifying God or feeding my flesh?

*PRAYER*
Lord, I thank You for being my Defender. Help me to stay focused on what You’ve called me to do, even when I’m misunderstood. Let my life glorify You in every way. Teach me to walk in humility and strength, knowing You always vindicate the righteous. In Jesus' name, Amen.

*WEDNESDAY DEVOTIONAL WITH DR. JAMES ADEYEMI*

TOPIC:- *DEATH IS NOT YOUR PORTION!*

TEXT:- *“I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord.* Psalm 118:17 (KJV)

Life is God’s gift to you, and no power of darkness has the right to cut it short.

The enemy may try to bring fear, sickness, and destruction, but God’s Word declares that you shall live! Your destiny is not over, your assignment is not complete, and your testimony is not finished.

Satan’s agenda has always been to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), but Jesus came to give you life abundant, victorious, and purposeful! Every plan of premature death against your life is canceled in Jesus’ name! You are covered by the blood of Jesus, and no weapon formed against you shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17).

If you have been battling fear, sickness, or discouragement, rise up in faith today! Declare boldly: “ *I shall not die,but live* !” Hold on to God’s promises and reject every lie of the enemy.

Your life is in God's hands, and no evil shall prevail against you!

*HOW TO WALK IN DIVINE LIFE*

1.Speak Life Daily – Confess God’s promises over your health, family, and future.

2. Reject Fear – Fear is a tool of the enemy. Walk in faith, not fear (2 Timothy 1:7).

3. Live in Obedience – Stay in alignment with God’s will and enjoy His covering (Deuteronomy 28:1-2).

4. Cover Yourself in Prayer – Constant prayer keeps you in divine protection (Psalm 91:1-2).

*PRAYER*
Father, I reject every plan of death over my life. I declare that I will live to fulfill my purpose. Thank You for surrounding me with Your divine protection and life. No sickness, accident, or evil plot shall cut short my destiny. I walk in divine health, favor, and victory. In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen!

*SATURDAY MORNING DEVOTIONAL WITH DR. JAMES ADEYEMI*

TOPIC: *FOLLOW THE PLAN OF GOD*.

TEXT
*"I know the plans that I have for you, declares the Lord. They are plans for peace and not disaster, plans to give you a future filled with hope*.
Jeremiah 29:11

The word of God says that there are many plans in the heart of man,but it is the purpose of God that stands.

God is to be followed by everyone that wants to fulfil destiny.Peter,James, and John were fishing and Jesus appeared from no where and asked them to follow Him.As they left all to follow Him,He gave their lives a memorial, and generational meaning. This is why it's wrong for anyone to lean on his/her own understanding.

As no human brain can be wiser than the Almighty God.

God has a good and better plan for His people. If Moses ended up with becoming the next Pharaoh in Egypt,he won't be as powerful and great as he was in destiny. There is a better you in God dear child of God.Following the plan of God is the best way to live in this world.May you not miss your place in God in the name of Jesus.

*PRAYERS*
Father, empower me to follow your plan for my life in the name of Jesus.

*THE WISDOM CHURCH DEVOTIONAL WITH DR JAMES ADEYEMI ON THURSDAY 7TH MAY 2026*

TOPIC:*DANGERS OF TOUCHING GOD'S ANOINTED*.

TEXT
"*But David said to Abishai, “Don’t destroy him! Who can lay a hand on the Lord’s anointed and be guiltless*?
1 Samuel 26:9 NIV

No one can lay hands on the anointed of God and not be guilty.I Sat down one day to study the lives of those that has touched me by insulting my family/assignment directly or indirectly, and discovered that all is not well with them, even when I didn't lay any curse on them.God is a God of principles. Anyone that breaks the hedge will be biten by the serpent.

DANGERS OF SPEAKING OR FIGHTING THE ANOINTED OF GOD.

I) Speaking against God's anointed brings disunity in the church.

2)It discourages the anointed from doing all he could do to feed the flocks of Christ under his care.

3)It weakens the faith of believers in the grace of God upon the anointed, and turns many potential believers in Christ to backsliders.

4)It brings death and destruction to the family , individual, community,or nation where the anointed is situated.

5)It paves way for the gates of hell to manipulate the people of God and use them to achieve it's wickedness on the earth that belongs to God Almighty.

6)It brings customized curses upon the lineage of them that touches the anointed of God.

*PRAYERS*
Father, arise and help me to follow your Perfect Will and stand in the gap for your anointed servants henceforth in the name of Jesus Christ.
