ADAPT OR DIE!

It is not the strongest of species that survives, it is not the smartest that survives, nor the most intelligent, it is the one that is able to adapt to change
The current state of affairs of our world today requires us to adapt. Those that will survive and go on to thrive are not those who not only have the mental fortitude to scale through this stage of our existence, but are able to adapt to these changes.
Adapting requires that you be flexible in the process of the attainment of a goal. Flexible in your approach, flexible in your plans, flexible in your strategies. Keep the goal in focus but adapt the process, plans and strategies to successfully navigate your current reality.
This process may require you to be strategic in how you harness your resources -mental, people, physical, material and more importantly, emotional.
Develop a good sense of emotional resourcefulness, others might be limited or nonexistent, but when you are fully aware of whats happening around you and aware of how it's affecting you internally, it helps you maintain a clear head and begin to see the opportunities in the challenges and how you can adapt.

FOCUS ON WHERE YOU'RE GOING
I thought myself to drive at a very young age just by watching my dad drive. I watched him for so long I could drive a car with my mouth 😁. I knew what to do, every of the way.
One thing I learnt much later which you must gain mastery of, to be a very good driver, is to, focus on where you're going.
You see, when you're driving, particularly when doing manoeuvres, going through narrow roads, avoiding obstacles or trying to manoeuvre your way out of a potential accident, is to focus on where you want the car to go, not on what you're trying to avoid.
Life is pretty much like that. You don't get to live your best life by focusing on avoiding every risk at every turn in your life. You hit what you focus on, whether you want it or not.
Where focus goes, energy flows. When you're focused on getting anything done, all your mental, physical and emotional energy is galvanised to achieving that one task. And sure enough, you get it done.
Whatever you want to achieve in your life, focus on it, not what you don't want.
So the next time you're driving and you're trying to avoid an obstacle, focus on where you want the car to go, not the obstacle.

WHY AM I NOT GETTING THE RESULTS I WANT?
So, over the past few days, I've been all over the place on what to share, scribbled a few things down, but always felt it wasn't good enough.
Do you have this experience where you know you have so much in you, even during your leisure or times you're less busy, you could easily deliver on a topic, idea, thought, subject or opinion? But the moment a conscious demand is placed on you to deliver, you suddenly become blank?
Well this happens to me often and I'm still trying to find an explanation for that. If you do, please do let me know and share in the comments
Anyways, while thinking of what to share with you, I started thinking about why people, few actually, succeed at what they do, and why most people, fail.
3 things came to my mind
No 1 - DESIRE
You see, I've come to realise that the formula for achieving something, anything, is given to you, if you don't want it, as in, deep within you, if you really don't want it, it won't work for you.
Why? you won't be giving your all to make it work. Sad truth is, most people do not know and cannot clearly articulate what they really want.
(Side note - We all think we know what we want, but when we finally get it, we get excited momentarily and a few minutes later, we are like, is that all! We then start looking for someone else to fill that void.) This is a topic for another day.
How do I know you want something? You go after it with all you've got! If you don't want it, you will not give your all in pursuit of it. Pursuit is the evidence of desire.

HOW AN ENGINEER CAN ALIGN YOUR LIFE.
A quick way to determine and know what you require to become or achieve anything, is to, reverse engineer the process it takes to get there.
This is a term frequently used in tech is the process taking apart an object or product to see how it is made and works in order to duplicate or enhance it.
Simply put, for instance, when you buy a new phone still in its pack, the process you engage in unpacking it's contents bit by bit, layer by layer, gives you an idea of how the product was packed in the first place.
This process gives you detailed requirements and resources you need to accomplish anything by first deconstructing the whole into individual parts.
Let's do a little exercise.
Now, Imagine you have achieved what you really want. Do a detail breakdown of what it took you to get there - (what you did, how you did it, who was part of it, what you used, who did you become, e.t.c). Starting from the point of achievement, and work your way back to your current reality.
Or find someone who's already living the life you want, get close to him/her enough to find out the process they went through to get to where they are, reverse the process and adapt it to your life.
There you have it, your personal roadmap to achieving what you really want.

MIND YOURSELF OOO!...WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?
This question has blown up arguments between people with some going on a panegyric rant, escalating the situation to unpalatable proportions beyond resolve.
But on a more serious note, who do you think you are?
To discover your purpose, you need to grow in self-awareness.
To grow in self awareness, you have to know yourself.
IOS and Android, the operating system on which mobile devices run, which one is better? This is an ongoing debate among mobile phone users. The truth of the matter is that most people who use them don't even use up to 10% of its capabilities. Their use is limited to the users extent of the knowledge of the device.
How much of what you can accomplish is limited to the extent to which you truly know yourself.
You see, things will always happen around you, but knowing yourself and how you're experiencing it, will help you respond to it appropriately.
To discover your purpose, you need to grow in SELF, AWARENESS and SELF-AWARENESS
Awareness is to be conscious, not ignorant, having knowledge of something through alertness in observing or in Interpreting what you see, hear, feel, perceive, etc
Awareness is knowing what is happening AROUND you. Self-awareness is KNOWING WHAT YOU'RE EXPERIENCING
Take a trip back to a not-too-good experience you think you could have handled better. Knowing what you know now, how would you have handled it?
When you know yourself and you're consciously aware of your mental, psychological, social and physical space per time, you set your life on course for what you truly want.
Awareness empowers you to take responsibility for how your life turns out. You are able to control that of which you are aware. That of which you are unaware controls you.
Awareness empowers you.
What I'm saying is this, you cannot become all you are capable of becoming until you truly know yourself.
So are you IOS or Android? Do you think you are more powerful than these two combined? Whatever it is for you, how much of yourself do you know and how are you using it?

BEFORE ANYTHING ELSE... YOU'RE HUMAN!
Before being called black or white, you're a human
Before being called a man or woman, boy or girl, you're a human
Before being called an African, Asian, European...you're a human
Before being called a Christian, Muslim, atheist or whatever you choose to believe or not to believe in, you're a human.
Before being called Igbo, Hausa or Yoruba, you're a human
Before being called rich or poor, you're a human
Before being called good or bad, you're a human.
Before being called a superior or subordinate, you're human
Before being called smart or dumb, wise or foolish, you're human
BEFORE BEING CALLED ANYTHING, ABSOLUTELY ANYTHING ELSE, YOU ARE FIRST OF ALL , A HUMAN
Please go back and read it once again, read it as many times as possible until you fully grasp this truth.
Any other thing after this are just labels made by man, the former, by God. You could as well have come as a rat! You didn't choose what form you
The status of your existence was and is not of your own making and you have no right, absolutely no right to take it.
Your humanity is what qualifies your existence in this form. It is what qualifies you to be called anything at all. You loose that, you loose your essence.
What does it mean to be human, it means to love, to care, to have compassion, to show empathy, to understand, to feel, and to put life first before anything.
Any attempt to behave otherwise is to betray this privilege.
The next time you're pushed to behave otherwise, weigh your actions or reactions against your humanity. Mentally switch places with your fellow human. Always remember, you have a choice.
