We trust everyone is settled into the new year.

Let’s be reminded that January is almost ending and that’s also an indication that time waits for no man.

Here at PWEY (Phartimer Wells Early Years), we are looking forward to happy times of learning and impacting our pupils!

TRUE LEADERS ARE SECURE LEADERS

Do you always find yourself been afraid of losing your influence to a subordinate?

YOU SEE THERE IS NOTHING WORSE THAN AN INSECURE LEADER.

Secured leaders easily empower others. They are not scared to do that because they have security.

Insecure leaders don’t empower others.
Insecure leaders find it hard to appreciate others
Insecure leaders never welcome the opinions of others
Insecure leaders are very afraid to put others in charge while they are away because of the fear of losing influence.
Insecure leaders want to be the only one running the show.

When do leaders become insecure?

1. May be they have been burnt once:- This is a common reason, for never giving others the room to operate, this is due to a past experience that has affected the leader in question

2. Fear of losing influence:- Insecure leaders believe if they put someone else in charge, they themselves will become dispensable.

3. Fear of change: - An Author named John Steinbeck asserted that it is the nature of man that as he grows older he begin to protest against change. Some leaders complain and complain, they are angry at how things are but they can’t withstand change. They prefer to stay the same rather than change; sometimes they say the devil you know is better than the angel you don’t know.

4. Lack of personal trust:- Some people are perfectionist and they find it hard to trust the decisions of others, if things are not done in their own way then it can never be done correctly, they rarely appreciate members of staff, or subordinates, so with that they have represented themselves in the eyes of their subordinates as KNOW IT ALL

If you can mitigate all the reasons for insecurity above then you can become better with empowering others, when you do that it shows you are a secured leader.

APPLICATION FOR TODAY

What experience have you gone through or are you going through that blocked you from trusting others? Or do you think if you tell someone to be in charge you might lose influence, or maybe you love things staying the same rather than changing?
