Hmm these 'famous' quotes are becoming shaky now. How
long are you going to wait before the reality hits you square
in face? Some have waited until they received what I call
"the love letter" - we-love-you-and-enjoy-your-service-in-
our-company-but-we-have-to-let-you-go-due-to-the-harsh-
economic-climate-.... However many have seen the
handwriting on the wall and have taken the bull by the
horns. Are you seeking freedom? Have you discovered why
you seek freedom? I have several freedom making ventures
you can launch into when you have decided to take that bold
step, to take the risk. Yes, you have to decide for yourself,
for no one can push you. No one pushed me. I decided on

Raising children in this 21st century is a bit of a
challenge. Parents must be determined not to leave
their children in the wild. “Train up a child in the way
he should go and when he is old, he will not depart
from it” – Proverbs 22:6. Albeit, in the process of
raising our kids we might be causing more damages
than good to them. Let consider the following tips:
- If your children intentionally disturb you, check it! It
might be you are not affectionate to them enough.

- Though you buy everything to your children, yet
they take things which don’t belong to them, check it!
The reason could be you don’t let them choose.
- If your child is secretive, check it! It could be you
condemn them each time they open up to you.
- If your child has low self-esteem, check it! It might
be you advised more than you encourage them
- If your children tell lies, check it! Check it! It might
be you overreacted to mistakes in the past
- If your child does not feel the pains of others, check
it! It might be you always dish out orders to them and
not paying attention to their feelings
- If your children don’t stand up for themselves,
check it! It might be you discipline them too
frequently in front of others.
- If your child behaves rudely, check it! It might be he
or she learnt from you the parents or from people
around.
- If your child is timid, check it! It might be you helped
them too quickly. Don’t remove every obstacle from
their path.
- If your child is jealous, check it! The reason might
be you compared them with others consistently.
- If your child gets angry easily, check it! The reason
might be you have not praised them enough. They
think they can only get attention when they
misbehave
Let us talk and spend quality time with our children.
We need to be better friends with them than anyone
else. Our society offers lots of evil friends who are
eagerly waiting to pounce on our children. Before
they come across such kinds of people, they need to
find their best friends in us.

How do you think is the best way to correct your children when they speak incorrectly?

Do you just snap the correct word at them? Make fun of them? Try these methods ; they work:

1) When they make a mistake in their speech, simply repeat what they said but in the right way. For example :
Child:"Mummy, what did you bought for me? "
Mum:" You mean what did you buy for me? "
I can almost bet you that your child will automatically repeat the correct statement.

2) Stop speaking childishly to your children. Speak to them like they are adults. No matter how young your children are, speak in a mature way to them. They would surely emulate you and you would be pleasantly delighted at the results.
