Time is everything in the universe. I often ask myself, what's next

Here I am, a aster’s degree holder. I reflect on my journey and wonder if this achievement would have been possible if I had told myself back in secondary school, "It’s too late" or "I’m too old for this."

I remember the days when I had to remove my shirt or switch to long shorts with innerwear just to avoid the embarrassment of wearing the junior secondary uniform—when I was supposed to have completed senior secondary school by then.

Everyone’s story is different. Yours might be about learning a trade, pursuing a skill, or something else entirely. But the most important story is this: never giving up.

Even now, I’m still believing, still fighting to catch up with my destiny. If it’s possible to overtake one’s destiny, that’s what I’m striving for.

I keep learning from myself, realizing that I can be anything my spirit and body agree upon, with God Almighty by my side. Time, for me, is not an enemy—it’s just my next-door neighbor.

It’s not over for me.
It’s not over for YOU either.

Title: Navigating the Path to Proficiency: A Journey as a Mathematics Teacher

Embarking on the journey to become a competitive mathematics teacher presented numerous challenges, especially after completing rigorous pedagogical training. The initial hurdle was transforming the acquired theoretical knowledge into practical, engaging lessons for pupils. The aim was not merely to impart mathematical skills but to instill a genuine passion for the subject.

Teaching across various schools in Lagos state exposed me to diverse learning environments, each with its unique set of challenges. Adapting my teaching methods to suit the individual needs of pupils required creativity and resilience. However, it was these challenges that shaped my teaching philosophy, emphasizing the importance of flexibility and student-centered approaches.

The journey continued as I ventured into FAITH COMPREHENSIVE INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL and ST. STEPHEN'S SCHOOL across BAYELSA State. Teaching in different regions brought cultural diversity, adding an extra layer of complexity to the educational landscape. It required an understanding of the local context and tailoring lessons to resonate with the students' experiences.

Becoming a proficient mathematics teacher involved continuous learning and refinement of strategies. Embracing technology, incorporating real-world applications, and fostering a collaborative learning environment were instrumental in enhancing the effectiveness of my teaching.

Striving for excellence, my journey extends beyond regional boundaries. The goal is to take my teaching abilities across the entire nation, sharing the passion for mathematics and promoting a holistic approach to education. It is a commitment to nurturing not just adept problem solvers but instilling a lifelong love for learning in every student I encounter.

As challenges persist, they are viewed not as obstacles but as opportunities for growth. Each classroom, each school, contributes to the evolution of my teaching expertise. The vision remains clear – to inspire young minds, making mathematics an accessible and enjoyable subject for students across Nigeria.
