This role, reports directly to the General Manager at InterContinental Lagos. As the Security Manager, you will be responsible for all security operations at the Hotel within the limits of the established InterContinental Hotels policies and procedures
Key Responsibilities:
Supervises all the security personnel in the hotel
Takes general responsibility for the security of life and properties within the Hotel premises
Interacts with guests as well as individuals outside the Hotel including but not limited to law enforcement agencies, Government officials, other security and members of the community.
Enforces controls of hotel properties in all departments i.e. Housekeeping, Laundry, Inter- Fitness Centre, F&B outlets, Engineering to ensure no hotel property is stolen.
Ensures all allegations of crime and other incidents are promptly investigated, recorded and recommendations made to the management between one and three days.
Co-ordinates with outside police agencies in the investigations and handling of crimes, accidents etc. involving the hotel employees and guests
Ensures that visitors are well screened before being issued with visitors’ cards and that cards are returned at the time visitor leaves. Scrutinizes the visitor before issuing and ensures that they are returned at the time visitor leaves
Undertakes safety audits, inspection and training as per IHC Crisis Response manual.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate must have a military and/or any other security agency background
Minimum of 10 years’ experience, 5 of which must be at management Level in the Hospitality Industry
Ability to relate and interact with various security agencies
Second degree and relevant professional qualifications would be an added advantage
Report writing and crisis management

We’ve Not Began Sales Of Forms – JAMB
The Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board has warned parents and guardians to disregard reports that the 2017 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination form is out . According to the board, the sale of forms will commence as soon as its reorganisation process ends .
Head of Information , JAMB , Dr . Fabian Benjamin , said this on Thursday in a telephone interview with our correspondent .
The board had last month met with officials of the West African Examinations Council , The National Examination Council and the National Business and Technical Examination Board , among other bodies , to harmonise their calendars.
However , some parents who spoke with our correspondent said they were disappointed that the form had yet to be sold .
But Benjamin , who noted that the board had met with operators of Computer - based Test Centres in preparation for the sale of the UTME form , urged parents and prospective candidates to exercise patience .
He added that plans were on to have a single centre where physically -challenged candidates could write their examinations .
He said , “ We are having an ongoing reorganisation process and we will sell the forms as soon as possible . Anyone selling JAMB forms should be handed over to the police . We are working on having all physically -challenged candidates to write their examinations in one centre . We are still planning for it, but we hope to get there soon . ”

ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a pleasant Front Desk Representative to undertake all receptionists, administrative and clerical duties at the desk of our main entrance. You will be the “face” of the Company for all visitors and will be responsible for the first impression we make.
The ideal candidate will have a friendly and easy going personality while also being very perceptive and disciplined. You should be able to deal with complaints and give accurate information. A customer-oriented approach is essential. The front desk officer must be willing to work whatever hours and times that are needed to get things done. WHAT YOU WILL DO
Overseeing all aspects of general office coordination

Handling enquires at the front desk
