Happy Teacher's day to all teachers.
We love you.
I love Google's theme picture, it reminds me of a dream we have here in this organisation.
2015, a project i had planned for a surburb of Lagos to teach indigent children how to read. Every child deserves to be limitless.
We will still fly like a bumblebee in due time. Very soon.
Dreams are valid. Every child has a right to fly like a bumblebee!

EXCERPT FROM MY TRIBUTE TO MY PAPA, MY FIRST ENGLISH TEACHER AND INTELLECTUAL MENTOR (PART TWO)
Papa didn’t stop there. As a pr***en, he gave me free access to his prized collection of the Heinmann African writers’ series (they were acquired during his stint at Bisi Books and he so cherished them): Ngugi Wa Thiong'o, Chinua Achebe, Cyprian Ekwensi, Kenneth Kaunda, Buchi Emecheta, Ayi Kwei Armah, Kofi Awonoor, Flora Nwapa, Mongo Beti, Ferdinand Oyono, Alex La Guma etc. were my thought formulators before I was a teenager. My vocabulary expanded beyond my years due to this exposure and I became aware of things like slavery, apartheid, colonisation, African tradition etc. quite early.
For once, Papa never dissuaded this bookworm from burying her nose in advanced books or limited me by reminding me of my eye condition. My parents jointly never made my eyesight a limiting factor to my intellectual forays.
Today, this bookworm has evolved into a professional editor, proofreader, copy editor, copywriter, content writer and manager, graphic designer, digital publishing expert and enthusiast, soon to be a published author, reader advisory, book club manager, social media content manager, professional reviewer and children reading advocate under the umbrella of my soon to be launched multilingual publishing BRAND: EUODIABYCHIOMABETHEL (EUODIA'S MAVEN, EUODIA'S PLACE, EUODIA'S CONFLUENCE 09015596588 for official inquiries on WhatsApp only).
This unique skill set is deeply rooted in Papa's desire for his children to get a well-rounded education outside of the conventional class

EXCERPT FROM MY TRIBUTE TO MY PAPA, MY FIRST ENGLISH TEACHER AND INTELLECTUAL MENTOR (PART ONE)
To those that know my family, it's common knowledge that Daddy managed a free lending Christian library with divine ingenuity despite not being trained in cataloguing, referencing, classification and library management. It was in this environment I grew and developed a natural love for books. I started reading at a very early age.
At age 8, my teacher saw me reading a book and she went berserk- “what are you doing with this book?” It wasn’t a lewd book, just an advanced text for a child in primary four so she seized the book even when I told her my dad gave it to me. She refuted my innocent but true claims- “why would you be reading a university text at your age?” So, when daddy came to pick us up at closing time, she reported me to him and he told her- “yes, I gave her. Let her read the book and call her to explain what she read. If she can tell us what she read, then she understands it.” That was how I ended up reading my future WAEC recommended literature-in-English text in primary four. In retrospect, reading The Concubine by Elechi Amadi at that age left an indelible mark on my quest for reading because no one could stop my mind. I was exposed to adult themes of unrequited love, African contexts, family traditions etc.

World Book Day changes lives through a love of books and shared reading. Our mission is to promote reading for pleasure, offering every child and young person the opportunity to have a book of their own. Reading for pleasure is the single biggest indicator of a child’s future success – more than their family circumstances, their parents’ educational background or their income. We want to see more children, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds, with a life-long habit of reading for pleasure and the improved life chances this brings them. Designated by UNESCO as a worldwide celebration of books and reading, World Book Day is marked in over 100 countries around the globe.

As , I started my journey with books as a young child of 7. I remember reading Elechi Amadi's The Concubine in primary four and understanding it. My teacher was appalled to see me reading a university text and reported me to my dad. They both cross examined me when I finished the book and I was able to give them a synopsis.
Since then, books have helped me grow, comforted me and being true companions.
I decided to give back by encouraging children to read and I started an advocacy in 2015. It has been revamped and will be fully relaunched in 2019. To support my advocacy, I have started today on World Book Giving Day. 365 books in 365 days. I am giving out the books to children in my life today.
