One of the applications of mathematics is surprisingly technical drawing! We speciallise in teaching it as well!

It's funny ๐Ÿ˜„ how I would give my little cousin questions to answer, and she would stylishly try to ask for the answer to the one she doesn't know.

For example, I gave her a "fill in the missing letters" question, which she asked for.

So, this is how it goes:

Her: I'm almost at number 12.
Me: Okay.
Her: But I don't know the answer.
Me: Oh, think about it. It's a word you know.
Her: Okay.

After about 2 minutes or so:

Her: I still can't figure it out. Can you please give me a hint?
Me: Okay. It's a color.

(Just so you know, dear reader, the word was "black" with the letters "a" and "k" omitted, as in "b_ac_.")

Then she came back after a few seconds.

Her: There's no color I can think of.
Me: Really?
Her: Yes.

I decided not to say a word. ๐Ÿค

Her: Can you give me another hint, please? ๐Ÿ™

In my head, I'm thinking, "What other hint could I give you that wouldn't be the answer?" ๐Ÿฅฒ๐Ÿฅฒ

Me: Have you checked all the colors that start with the letter B? (I knew that I had just told her the answer by saying this.)

And immediately, she shouted, "Black!!"

And that's how she succeeded.

But I guess it's also fair to teach her how to figure out the missing letters so that next time, she'll be able to do it herself.

P.S.: She's very smart though. ๐Ÿ‘Œโคโคโค

Thanks for reading!

There are some kinds of behaviors that some children exhibit ๐Ÿ˜ณ, and I feel like I have no choice but to condone them.

And I ask myself, why do I have to be in this helpฤผess situation? ๐Ÿ˜•๐Ÿ˜’

But you know what I do?

Oh, you donโ€™t need to guess; Iโ€™ll tell you.

I pray ๐Ÿ™.

Prayer is the ๐Ÿ”‘๐Ÿ—๐Ÿ”.

One of the issues ๐Ÿค” I encounter as a math tutor is the issue of forgetfulness.

Most (not all) students tend to forget math concepts after they have been taught for a while.

Apart from continuous practice questions, what other ways can this problem be solved?

Let me know in the comments.

It's quite funny ๐Ÿ˜„ how people unintentionally make mistakes with word pronunciations, and sometimes even the actual words.

And when I say people, I mean adults, not kids.

*Note: Iโ€™m one of these people* ๐Ÿคซ๐Ÿคญ.

I mean, kids are believed to be young, so it's quite understandable when they make these mistakes.

For instance, my little cousin ๐Ÿ‘ฉ was trying to say the word "PERMANENT," but she'd say "PERMAMENT" ๐Ÿคฃ. When I tried teaching her to say it properly, she said "PERMALENT" ๐Ÿคฃ. It wasn't easy.
The popular sound "gwo gwo gwo ngwo" (hope I spelled that correctly) is actually "bo bo bo bo" ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ. I mean, she's a kid, so it's quite understandable.

Now, imagine finding out that I always call a trumpet ๐ŸŽบ a piano ๐ŸŽน.

"What!!!" ๐Ÿ˜ณ๐Ÿ˜’ Yep, Iโ€™m pretty sure you just thought that in your head right now, but it's true!

Now, I need you to know that I do know it's a piano, but "trumpet" just pops out of my mouth every time, and I don't even realize I said it until I'm corrected.

And oh yeah ๐Ÿ˜Ž, Iโ€™m not done giving examples.

My mum always calls "lyrics" "rylics," and Iโ€™m pretty sure it's the same issue ๐Ÿ˜‘ as mine because she knows the word.

I could go on and on with instances of people close to me, but I won't ๐Ÿคฉ๐Ÿคฉ๐Ÿคฉ. These examples are enough!

The bone of contention is: can anything be done about this?
And let me know about any word mistake you make in the comments. โคโคโค

My secondary school days were really cool ๐Ÿ˜Ž.

Except I don't remember owning a calculator. Or did I? ๐Ÿค” Yeah, no! I didn't, not until my university days.

When I speak of a calculator, I mean the black-colored scientific calculator. ๐Ÿ™ƒ

I haven't learned all that it could do yetโ€”yes, the calculator.

Then I came across the Cรฃsio calculator.๐Ÿ˜Ž

I'm pretty sure most of you already know this calculator.

Even as a tutor, I haven't yet discovered all that it can do.

I mean, a calculator that can solve simple equations, calculus, and so much more! ๐Ÿ˜›๐Ÿ˜›

Now, don't get me wrong ๐Ÿ˜ when I speak so highly of Casรญo. I am well aware that regular scientific calculators can also perform some of these tasks, but not as much as ฤ‡asio.

And yes, there are even more powerful calculators than CaลŸio, but Casiรณ is more common now.

Yeah, so where was I? Oh! Yep.

So, when I see a secondary school student owning a Casฤซo calculator, I'm usually worried ๐Ÿ˜Ÿ because what if he/she finds out all that it could do? ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ

Well, now you know ๐Ÿ˜, reader (except you already knew before).

But you know what you don't know? How to go about it! (I mean, unless you already knew ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿคฃ)

Tell me what you want to know in the comments.

Enjoy your day, readers ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜˜โคโœจ!

I was trying ๐Ÿ˜ช to explain a math concept to an SS1 boy

โ€”modulo arithmetic, to be precise. If youโ€™re not familiar with this (I mean, you wouldnโ€™t be if you didnโ€™t study math or any math-related courses, and of course ๐Ÿ˜‰ if you arenโ€™t in high school, even though some secondary school students might not know it), it deals with residues, meaning remainders. (Let me know in the comment section if you would like me to explain the concept here.)

Anyways, back to my story. While I was teaching him, guess what he asked me? ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜

Ummmmmmโ€ฆ ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜’๐Ÿ˜’๐Ÿ˜’๐Ÿ˜’ Nope ๐Ÿ™…๐Ÿป, you guessed wrong! He asked, and I quote, "Who invented modulo arithmetic?" ๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ™„

And in my head ๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ™„, Iโ€™m like, "Um, we are not studying history here."

And guess the answer I gave? Yep, you guessed that right โœ…. I said, "Google it."

So, itโ€™s either one of these two things ๐Ÿค” that were going on with the boy ๐Ÿ‘ฆ:

1. He was already tired ๐Ÿ˜ซ.
2. He was trying to understand the idea ๐Ÿคฃ behind the concept.

And, of course, the latter is the case ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚.

Note: I love the concept โค but not as much as I love you, readers ๐Ÿ˜˜.

Thanks for reading ๐Ÿ“š. Donโ€™t forgฤ—t to give me a folล‚ow MIDA CONED online classes and show love by liking and sh@ring.

Two days ago,

A science student asked me a question ๐Ÿง that I had never thought of.

Note: He is just going into senior secondary school.

He said, and I quote, "I was going through my chemistry textbook and found out that atoms take part in chemical reactions. So, does that mean atoms have life in them? Are they living things?"

In my head, I'm like, do I look like your chemistry teacher? ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜

Well, to answer this question, I would say anything that cannot at least grow or reproduce is not alive. And since an atom cannot do any of these, then itโ€™s non-living.

Let me know what you think in the commฤ•nts.

Love ๐Ÿ’˜๐Ÿ˜ป you, reรคders! ๐Ÿ‘ˆ

I was shocked ๐Ÿ˜ฒ when a student told me that it's being debated on the news whether WAEC should be written by children under 18 anymore.

Please let me know how true this is in the cรฒmmรฉnt section.

But if you ask me, I definitely won't support the motion, because why not?

Let me know what you think.
