This is the question that keeps you up the night before. Not whether they’ll learn their letters. Whether they’ll be okay without you.

Here’s the truth. For the first few mornings, they’ll miss you, and you’ll miss them more. Then, slowly, something quietly wonderful happens. They discover they can be brave. They make a friend. They find something that lights them up. They come home fuller than they left.

Before any letter or number, the first thing we get right is this: your child is known by name, comforted when they’re sad, and celebrated when they’re proud. Because a child who feels safe is a child free to become everything they’re meant to be.

To a child, play is never just play.

When they stack, pour, pretend and build, they’re learning to focus, solve problems, and try again when it doesn’t work the first time.

Play is how a small person practises being a capable one.

So when your child looks completely absorbed in something that looks like nothing, that’s the real work happening. 💙

A beautiful classroom is lovely, but choosing the right preschool goes much deeper than appearance.
When visiting a school, pay attention to how the environment makes you and your child feel.

Ask yourself:
-Is the environment safe, clean and welcoming?
-Do the teachers speak to children with warmth, patience and respect?
-Are the children actively engaged, or are they simply being kept busy?
-Does the school understand that children develop at different rates?
-How does the school communicate with parents?
-Are children given opportunities to play, explore, ask questions and become more independent?
-Most importantly, does it feel like your child will be known, not simply managed?

The right preschool should support the whole child, not only academically, but socially, emotionally and physically too.
