I love the way Nigerians are defining things internationally. Congratulations to Tunde Onakoya breaking the Guinness book of world records on the longest Chess Marathon!🏆

I love what he is doing in Chess in slums. So inspiring. I read about Ferdinand Maomu and a host of others he has helped ignite hope in despite surrounding poverty. I am so inspired.

I love how he's channeling them towards education and better life through chess.

Why did Tunde really catch my attention?

Aside the fact that l love what he is doing using Chess to define things in the slums of Oshodi, Majidun and Ikorodu, my nephew Erin loves playing Chess.

He loves it so much that he is after everyone to play it with him. So much that for his 10th birthday his cake was a chess piece. He doesn't like ludo he says it's a game of chance but chess...

It's a game of KINGS!

Here are some simple tips to help you:

1️⃣ Explore Investment Options: There are various investment opportunities like stocks, mutual funds, bonds, real estate, or even starting a small business. Research the one that fits your goals and risk tolerance.

2️⃣ Start Today: Time is a powerful asset when it comes to investments. The sooner you start, the more time your money has to grow through compounding.

3️⃣ Diversify Your Portfolio: Don't put all your eggs in one basket. Spread your money across different portfolio of investments. It helps reduce risks and enhances your returns.

4️⃣ Stay Informed: Stay up-to-date with financial news and trends. Knowledge is your best friend in the world of investing.

5️⃣ Always do your research and consult with a qualified financial advisor before making any investment decisions. 📚💼

Let's talk about some ways we can overcome the second money mistakes that teachers make. 💪💰

🔍 Many teachers struggle with saving enough money, and it's understandable. We pour our hearts and souls into our classrooms, often putting others' needs before our financial well-being. But fear not! Here are some simple yet effective tips to help us overcome this hurdle and start building a secure future:

1️⃣Cut unnecessary expenses: Evaluate all your recurring payments. Do you need all those clothes, shoes, gadgets, iPhones, services, or subscriptions? Trim down on unnecessary expenses and redirect those savings toward your future.

2️⃣ Budgeting: Take control of your finances by creating a realistic budget. List your income, prioritize expenses, and set aside a portion for savings. Remember, every naira counts!

3️⃣ Track your spending: Keep a record of your expenses to identify areas where you can cut back. I use an app called Spending Tracker downloaded from the Google play store to help me track my expenses. Knowing that those small daily indulgences can add up, helps you become mindful of where your money goes so you can make smarter choices.

4️⃣Buy in bulk: Consider buying in bulk to save money on everyday essentials. Join a group of teachers to do bulk buying. Thrift stores and second-hand markets can also be great places to find affordable supplies.

5️⃣Avoid Debt: Don't fall victim to those who want to ensnare you by saying "You can pay small, small nau". Avoid buying anything on credit oh or should I mind my business here? But know that this is a way of sapping your money causing you to struggle during the month not to think of having more to save. A word is enough for the wise.

6️⃣ Join an accountability group: Joining a group of like-minded people working towards the same goal is great support. They provide you with motivation helping you reach your financial goals. Who wan carry las?

Remember, fellow educators, it's never too late to start saving more. By taking small steps today, we can pave the way for a brighter and more financially secure tomorrow. Let's support one another on this journey toward financial well-being! 💪💰
