Hi everyone
Where you able to do my assignment last time
Today we want to continue with fractions
And today's topic is expressing fractions to the lowest term
To express a fraction to the lowest terms ,do the following
1) look for the common factors of the numerator and the denominator
2) divide the numerator and the denominator by the common factor dividing two at a time up and down
3) repeat the division until there are no more common factors
EXAMPLES
1) EXPRESS 42/70 in it's lowest term
Solution
Let's use 7 the common factor of 42 and 70 to divide: 42÷7=6
70÷7=10
So we have 6/10
Next step we identify the common factor of 6 and 10 which is 2 then we divide by 2
6÷2=3
10÷2= 5
=3/5
Since there is no other common factors for 3and 5 we are done
Our answer is 3/5🙏🙏
