Let's start with parts of speech in English Language. The first on my list is NOUN.
What is a noun?
A noun is a naming word. It is also the word that appears at the subject and object levels of a sentence.

Then, there is need for us to know the meaning of 'subject and object' in a sentence.

Subject of a sentence is that which everything in the sentence centres on. It is also called the starter of a sentence. It could be noun or pronoun. The object is the receiver of action in a sentence. It could either be noun or pronoun.

Some of the examples of noun are: Johnson, elephant, Lagos, bag, chair, honesty etc.
