A lot of people have a warped perception about what the IELTS is all about.
Let me start by saying that, the IELTS is nothing but an *English Language Proficiency Exam.*
Just like the PTE, OET, TOEFL, DUOLINGO, etc.
Nothing more.
That means:
β
οΈ You won't get automatic employment after passing the IELTS without rigorously searching for jobs.
β
οΈ You won't get scholarships or admission to schools by just passing the IELTS. You'll need to apply and meet up with other prerequisites.
I hope this makes sense now?

One of the best decisions I made a while ago is to...
..promise myself that whenever the chance comes, I'll only train candidates STRICTLY with the exact exam condition.
For instance:
If you're supposed to Listen to the audio (in the Listening test) just once
I'll ensure that your practice (in the Listening practice session) is invalid if you
π still take calls
π Attend to your kids or husband
π Pause the audio
And many more...
Before continuing.
Why?
Because it is unrealistic!
You won't be able to do the same thing on your IELTS exam day.

When people say to me...
Instructor Daniel, I don't want an online class because I'll not be serious with it.
I need a class that can stress me
I physical class that I'll have to go from time to time, that I can see the tutor and have a physical interaction with other candidates.
Each time I hear this...
I can tell you that 9/10 times it is pure laziness that is speaking.
Why? Because I have seen numerous candidates that paid for both online classes and physical classes and yet didn't show up.
In fact, it has become a normal thing for us tutors to be paid for classes, materials, etc and find the same candidate that paid out of sweat, blood, and tears, not go through their classes or materials.
So what's the problem?
It's definitely not online classes
And it's not even the distance or what ever thing they want to complain about the physical classes
Rather it is LAZINESS and INDISCIPLINE
Nothing more
Nothing less

I was not surprised when...
I got the information that one of my students failed her exam.
And yes it pained me because of the amount of effort I invested into teaching her and her friend in preparation for their exams.
While she was nursing her failure, her friend smashed with an 8.0 band score.
Yet, when she came to me to complain, I told her
"You failed this exam, not because you were taught the wrong thing, as the same lecture you've had was also given to other candidates and they passed. So, I'll advise that you diligently go back to what I have taught you guys, and get back to me whenever you have any question."
That was what I told her, she listened, went back and do as she was told...
..and the rest is history!
She retook the exam and got a 7.0
But that's not the point.
The fact is that, the same information that she read, practiced with, and scored a 7.0
Is the same thing that I penned down in *The Lazy Student's Strategy for Scoring a Band 7.0* ebook
Not to talk of the fact that I'll be
β
οΈ Reviewing writings from time to time
β
οΈ Holding speaking sessions on Sundays
β
οΈ Will giving you a lifetime access to this class

You want to CRUSH the IELTS?
Well this is the mindset you need to have...
..but before I tell you, I need you to understand that to almost all the result you can achieve in life,
is determined by the mindset you possess.
So it is safe to say that your mindset can either be your ally or your enemy.
It can't be both.
Take this instance, where some candidates have carried a fear of failing the IELTS exam simply because they know that it's expensive and a lot of people they know took this exam and failed.
So tell me, what kind of mindset do you think these kind people will have? A positive or a negative one?
Well, it will be a mindset plagued with fear of failing and the possibility of passing ONLY after many trials.
But thats not even the point right now
Because the most interesting thing is that...
Irrespective of the kind of mindset you have currently, you can still sync it to help you succeed
Especially, if you have purchased a highly valuable material like *The Lazy Student's Strategy for Scoring a Band 7.0*
Coupled with a determination that goes thus
"I OWE IT TO MYSELF TO PASS THIS EXAM; HENCE, I'LL READ, PRACTICE LIKE CRAZY, ASK QUESTIONS, AND ATTEND THE SPEAKING PRACTICE CLASS"
I can promise you boldly that you can not fail with this kind of mindset π
By the way, if you have not purchased *The Lazy Student's Strategy for Scoring a Band 7.0* ebook yet,
This the link you can use and purchase it below

Then send me your receipt as proof of payment, and I'll add you to the support group where I'll be reviewing your writings and conducting speaking classes from time to time

One of the hardest things to admit to as a tutor and coach that has helped a lot of people pass different exams is...
There is a God-factor in passing an exam
Whether you're conscious of it or not
It doesn't negate the fact that with all your preparation, there still need to be a spike of LUCK to smash your exam.
For me luck is
LUCK= Hard work + Preparation + God
That's how to get lucky
And to know you're lucky, you'll find the exam questions to be within the confine of the things you learned and practice on.
So while planning on smashing your OET/IELTS/PTE/TOEFL etc
Add God to the equation for you to achieve success.

We are almost there...
Just 4 days from now, we'll be in a new year!
Here are some things I'll like you to do before we enter the new year
β
οΈ Write out your clear goals for the year
I know you have stuffs you'll like to achieve in 2024, but...
..have you taken a book and a pen to WRITE them out? If not do that now!
Write out where you want to be by this time NEXT year
π Financially = the kind of job you want to do, how much money you'll like to make, have as your account balance, investments you'll like to make, etc
π Socially = the country you want to be in, the friends and neighbors you'd like to be around in 2024
π Academically = the exams you'll have to prepare for, like the IELTS, CBT, NCLEX, OSCE, etc and the grades you'll like to get
πPhysically = the weight you'll like to attain, the bulk of bisceps/muscles, etc
Then...
β
οΈ Arrange them in the order of pressing importance!
If passing the IELTS is the most important goal for you, then place it at the top.
If it's getting a new job, then place it at the top too, etc.
β
οΈ Choose the strategy that you'll like to use in achieving each of these goals
For example, when it comes to passing the IELTS, you can choose to hire a coach, join a class; virtually or physically, or even get yourself a self study material like the NSB course in preparation for this exam.
Anyway, if you need a one-on-one coach, you know who to count on, right? π₯±

One of the most profitable things you can do with your weekends is...
To reflect on how you've lived your life in the previous week
And check if it's in line with your overall goals (both long term and short term goals)
If it does, then make a resolution to add intensity to it
If not, then resolve not to follow that path again
Also if you've been asking yourself why you are not making as much progress as you anticipated
I hope this piece answers that question π
