WHY:
- *Magnetic quantum number (ml)*:

- *Spin quantum number (ms)*:
- Describes the *orientation (spin) of the electron itself* — like whether it’s spinning *clockwise (+½)* or *anticlockwise (−½)*.

So yes:

🪐HEAT OF COMBUSTION (∆Hc)
This is the heat liberated when ONE MOLE of an element or compound is burnt completely in excess oxygen.
C(s) + O2(g) ==> CO2(g) ∆Hc = -393 kJ/mol
H2 + ½O2 ==> H2O ∆Hc = -286 kJ/mol
CH4 +202 ==> CO2(g) + 2H2O: ∆Hc = -891 kJ/mol
🧘 The substances burnt in the above examples are carbon, hydrogen and methane respectively. It should be noted that;
💯The heat of combustion of carbon is the same as the heat of formation of CO2
💯The heat of combustion of hydrogen is the same as the heat of formation of H2O
💯The heat of combustion of methane is the same as the heat of formation of CO2 and H2O
