Happy New Month, Amazing Teachers!
Welcome to the beautiful month of May and a brand new Third Term! 🎉📚
If I’m being honest, last term really stretched me. There were moments I felt completely overwhelmed… I even broke down at a point from the stress. It was a tough reminder that while we pour so much into our little stars, we also need to pour back into ourselves. 💛
As we step into this new term, let this be your gentle reminder:
Take care of YOU too. Rest when you can. Ask for help when you need it. Breathe. You are not just a teacher you are human first.
Our children need us at our best, not at our most exhausted.
So yes, let’s show up, let’s give our all, let’s nurture, teach, and inspire… but let’s also protect our peace, our health, and our joy along the way.
Here’s to a fulfilling, balanced, and beautiful Third Term!
We’ve got this 💪🏽❤️

Being a teacher on the island is really a full-body workout. Today's traffic was something else..🤯🤯🤯
From standing all day in class explaining, writing, pacing, managing energy like a performer on stage to then sitting for hours in traffic, unmoving, just watching life crawl by…😱😱
It’s a different kind of exhaustion. The kind that sits deep in your bones.😨
And let’s not even talk about fuel prices. Moving from point A to B now feels like a strategic military operation. Every trip must be planned, calculated, and emotionally prepared for. Logistics is no longer logistics it’s warfare.
I packed my car hoping that using the public transport would be better but my dear it's not oh as I spent almost the same amount I used for my weekly fuel...🥹🥹
So yes, if I start talking about needing a proper, uninterrupted, soul-reviving massage this weekend… or at least before this term ends, please understand it’s not luxury, it’s survival.
Because at this point, my body is filing complaints.

Lately, it’s felt like there just aren’t enough hours in the day. Between lesson planning, grading, meetings, and making sure my students get the attention they deserve, I’ve been completely wrapped up in work.
I realized I haven’t been as active on here as I used to be, but it’s all for a good reason. Teaching isn’t just a job you clock in and out of it follows you home, fills your thoughts, and demands your full heart.
I’m slowly finding my balance again, and I’ll be sharing more soon. Thanks for sticking around 💛
Sending my love to my beautiful women for marking their international women's week with lots of flair and pride 😍
To my Muslim friends I believe you had a splendid Eid Al Fitr filled with God's blessings..🙏
Cheers...

Dear Teachers,
A warm welcome back to school! 😊
Though short it's great to be back after a rejuvenating midterm break. It's been a very busy week since I resumed.
I hope you had a refreshing midterm break. As we kick off a new month, let's gear up and tackle our targets with renewed energy.
With the term nearing its end, your passion and commitment are what drive your pupils towards success. Keep shining and pushing forward!
Wishing you a productive and fulfilling remainder of the term.

As a teacher or school nurse, you may wonder why this training matters especially if you currently don’t have children with Type 1 diabetes in your school.
Here’s what we know:
• Type 1 diabetes (diagnosed from age 0+) is rising at 11.7% annually, compared to Type 2 diabetes (which is more common in adults) at 4% annually.
• For every child diagnosed, three remain undiagnosed.
• Families often hide diagnoses due to social stigma.
This means the likelihood of children with Type 1 diabetes being in your school is increasing.
Schools have become a critical frontline for early detection. Early detection saves lives.

Yes I'm on midterm break....💃💃💃
As teachers, midterm break is a gift. A time to rest. A time to breathe. A time to reset.
But yesterday, we used one day of our break for something just as important professional development.
In a world where education is constantly evolving, we cannot afford to stay the same. New teaching strategies, fresh literacy approaches, improved classroom management systems, better assessment methods things are changing, and our children deserve teachers who stay informed.
Whether it’s exploring updated early years methodologies inspired by the child-centred approach of Maria Montessori or refining phonics instruction strategies similar to those used in Jolly Phonics, growth is not optional for educators who want excellence it is essential.
Professional development is not just about certificates.
It is about:
• Sharpening our skills
• Learning better ways to reach different learners
• Staying ahead of educational trends
• Reflecting on what works and what needs improvement
As a nursery teacher, I know that the early years lay the foundation for everything. If I want my children to thrive in reading, spelling, behaviour, and confidence, then I must keep learning too.
Rest is important.
But growth is powerful.
Midterm break is not just a pause it is an opportunity.
Here’s to teachers who are committed to becoming better, not just busier.
NB: Don't worry after today's training I'm on lockdown until the end of the break...😴😴😴

As nursery teachers, this quote speaks deeply to the heart of our work. Because the truth is everything we do does make a difference.
The way we greet a child in the morning…
The patience we show when they struggle to hold a pencil…
The encouragement we give when they try to read a word…
The values we model through our action..
These small, everyday moments may seem ordinary, but they are shaping confidence, character, curiosity, and a lifelong love for learning.
Young children are at the stage where foundations are built academically, socially, and emotionally. One kind word can boost their self-esteem. One engaging lesson can spark curiosity. One caring teacher can change how they see school and themselves.
So let’s never underestimate the impact of our role.
Let’s plan intentionally.
Let’s teach passionately.
Let’s correct lovingly.
Let’s celebrate every little progress.
Because when we teach as though it matters we nurture children who believe they matter.
And that is the difference we are called to make every single day. 💛
