Day 6 of Dhul Hijjah MashaAllah!

Do you remember, there is literally NO BETTER TIME to do good deeds than these first 10 days of Dhul Hijjah!?

Of course, EVERYBODY LOVES to give Sadaqah (Charity) but what about those of us who might not be financially well off?

Is there any way of getting INCREDIBLE AMOUNTS of rewards for FREE? Or without having to spend money?

Well… YES!

Take up Dhul Hijjah Challenge!

Your challenge for the remaining few days is to read the Quran and make a lot of Dhikr (Remembrance of Allah).Reading the Quran is one of the best ways to get incredible amounts of rewards!

You get 10 rewards for EVERY SINGLE LETTER you recite!

The Prophet (ﷺ) said:

“Whoever recites a letter from the Book of Allah, he will receive one good deed as ten good deeds like it. I do not say that Alif Lam Mim is one letter, but rather Alif is a letter, Lam is a letter, and Mim is a letter”

And IF you find it difficult the recite the Quran, you get DOUBLE the REWARDS! So READ!!!!!
The Prophet (ﷺ) said: “...he who recites the Quran and finds it difficult to recite, doing his best to recite it in the best way possible, will have a double reward.’

During the ten days of Dhul Hijjah, it is recommended to recite more Dhikr. The Prophet (ﷺ) said: “There are no days that are greater before Allah or in which good deeds are more beloved to Him than these ten days (of Dhul Hijjah), so increase reciting Tahleel, Takbeer, and Tahmeed during them.”

So make a lot of Dhikr. Specifically:

“Allahu Akbar”

“Alhamdulillah”

“Subhaan Allah”

& “La ilaha ill-Allah”

Virtues and Importance of the first 10 days of Dhul Hijjah

Dhul Hijjah is one of the most glorious months in Islam. In the month of Dzul Hijjah there are days selected by Allah as the best days of the year. Allah said:

"By dawn, and the tenth night" (Surah Al-Fajr: 89:1-2)
Most Scholars agree that what is meant in this Aya is the first 10 days of the month of Dhul Hijjah..
Righteous Deeds during the month of Dhul-Hijjah:
Narrated Ibn Abbas (R.A.), who said that Prophet Mohammad (S.A.W.) said:

"No good deeds done on other days are superior to those done on these (first ten days of Dhul Hijja)." Then some companions (Sahaba) of the Prophet (S.A.W.) said, "Not even Jihad?" He replied, "Not even Jihad, except that of a man who does it by putting himself and his property in danger (for Allah's sake) and does not return with any of those things."

The Journey to Eternity

Path to Paradise or Hellfire

THE GRAVE: is the first stage of the hereafter, it is a pit of fire for the hypocrite disbeliever and a garden for the believer. We come to know through various narrations from the prophet that there are certain punishments in the grave for various acts of d bedience. From them are not cleansing oneself properly from urine, bearing tales in order to spread strife amongst people, intentionally sleeping through the obligatory prayers (solat), abandoning the Quran, fornication and adultery, homosexuality interest and usury, withholding payment of debts and other sins.

Salvation from the punishment of the grave can be achieved by performing good deeds done sincerely for Allah. Constantly seeking refuge in Allah from his punishment, by reciting Surah al-Mulk (Q:67) and other deeds.

Those who are protected from this punishment include the martyrs; those who died in the course of duty to Allah and those who died on a Friday (Al-Jumuah) those who died

Did you know that *Dhul Qa'dah* is one of the four sacred months in the Islamic calendar?

Yes, Dhul Qa'dah is a sacred month in Islam, and while there are no specific virtues mentioned in the Quran or Hadith for this particular month, there are general guidelines and practices that are recommended for all Islamic months which include:

1. **Increased Worship**: Engaging in extra prayers, dhikr (remembrance of Allah), and recitation of the Quran are all commendable acts during this month.

2. **Repentance and Seeking Forgiveness**: This month is a good time to seek forgiveness for any sins and to make sincere repentance.

3. **Sadaqah (Charity)**: Giving charity and helping those in need is always encouraged in Islam, and it is especially meritorious during the sacred months.

4. **Good Deeds**: Engaging in acts of kindness, helping others, and striving to be the best version of oneself are all actions that are beloved to Allah.

5. **Dua (Supplication)**: Increasing dua and seeking Allah's help, guidance, and blessings in all aspects of life is highly recommended.

Remember, the virtues of any month in Islam are ultimately based on how a person uses that time to strengthen their faith, improve their character, and draw closer to Allah.

SOLATUL KHUSUF (PRAYER FOR ECLIPSE.)
The sun and the moon are two signs from Allah, and they do not become eclipsed for the death or the birth of anyone. Salat al-Kusuf is a confirmed Sunnah according to the consensus of the scholars.

When the sun was eclipsed at the time of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), he went out rushing nervously to the mosque, dragging his cloak behind him, and led the people in prayer. He told them that the eclipse was one of the signs of Allah, with which Allah makes His slaves afraid, and that it may be the cause of punishment coming upon the people. He commanded them to do that which could prevent the punishment, so he commanded them to pray when an eclipse happens, and to make du`a, seek His forgiveness, give charity, free slaves and do other righteous deeds so that the punishment would go away and not befall the people. So the eclipse is a reminder to people, making them afraid so that they will turn back to Allah and pay attention to Him.

Salat-ul-Khusuf comprises of two Rak‘ahs. Recitation in both Salahs (Prayers) is performed out loud. In each Rak‘ah, there are two Ruku‘s (bowing), the second of which is always shorter than the first, and there are also two recitations. After the Takbirat-ul-Ihram, Surah Al-Fatihah and a long Surah are recited. After the first Ruku‘, Surah Al-Fatihah and a long Surah are recited again, which is shorter than the preceding recitation. There are two Sujuds (Prostrations) in each Rak‘ah. This is the most authentic report mentioned regarding this Salah.

SOME ETIQUETTE OF RECITING THE QUR'AN

The manners of reading and reciting the Quran encompass a set of recommended behaviors and practices that Muslims adhere to when engaging with the sacred scripture. Observing these manners involves rituals such as it is mentioned by As Shaykh Ibn Katheer which include among others

1. That one should neither touch nor recite the Qur'an except in a state of purification.
2. One should use siwak to clean his teeth before recitation.
3. It is recommended that one should face the Qiblah.
4. One should pause his recitation when yawning.
5. One should not interrupt his recitation and speak, except if necessary.
6. One should pay attention to what he is reciting.
7. One should pause in a verse mentioning reward and ask Allah for reward.
8. One should pause in a verse mentioning punishment and seek Allah's refuge from it.
9. One should not leave the Qur'an open nor place anything on it.
10. One should avoid reciting at marketplaces or places of distracting noise.
