Many girls are taught to avoid risks and failures, focusing on being perfect, while boys are encouraged to take risks, which is rewarded. In a study, bright girls were more likely to give up on challenging tasks, while boys embraced them. This pattern continues into adulthood, where men will apply for jobs with only 60% of qualifications, while women wait for 100%. Closing this bravery gap is crucial to achieving gender equality in various fields. We must teach girls to embrace imperfection and courage from an early age and show them that they're valued for their bravery, not perfection.
