*NECO/WASSCE ENGLISH/LITERATURE REVISION PROPOSAL UPDATE@Saturday, 24th July 2021*

1. The first revision class is billed for seven (7) days away from today, Sat., 24th July 2021, precisely scheduled for 12noon of Saturday, 31st July & Sunday 1st August 2021, for the NECO English Language examination to be written, Monday 2nd August 2021 all over the country.
2. We planned to transmit the program live into YouTube for the benefit of viewers who may wish to follow us live, while the platform would also serve as an archive (for future reference).
3. We have penned down a few Secondary Schools in Agege and other local government areas in Lagos. Any of these would serve as our venue for physical classes as well as our point of virtual transmission station. Therefore, volunteers who can make it physically would be requested to proceed to the Anchor Point on each day of transmission. Free Zoom/Teams links shall however be released to other schools, specialists/instructors, and students who may wish to participate from their various locations.
4. A proposal has already been dropped with some of the chosen schools. Requests are made for the use of their:
A. Interactive Digital boards,
B. Internet Facilities
C. Stabilizer/Power Generating Set
D. Classroom,
E. Cordless Microphone & Speakers, and
F. A camcorder; for recording of activities, to be further transmitted live and thereafter burnt/archived into Digital Versatile Discs (DVDs).
5. Work on partnership with other institutions among which are:
*RRS arm of the NPF
*FCMB
*ACCESS BANK
*ATSO
*NAPPS
*Agency for Mass Mobilization & Education
*Cadbury Etc.,
is ongoing.
6. A WhatsApp Platform has been created for prospective contributors to hold discussion concerning the planning for the revision sessions.
7. Following are proposed division of tasks for specialists:
-2 instructors needed for each topic/subject,
-each would spend 15 minutes on a topic. i.e.

A. Essay Writing (Informal Letter, Narrative Etc)
B. Comprehension
C. Summary Writing
D. Lexis/Semantics (Synonyms, Antonyms, Register & Idioms)
E. Structure/Syntax (Grammatical Categories)
F. Test of Orals
* Phonetic Symbols & Rhyme
* Word & Emphatic Stress Etc.
*Literature in English*
A. General Principles of Literature
B. Literary Appreciation (Unseens)
C. Approach to Context Questions (Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream")
*Brief Analyses of:*
D. A Chosen African Drama
E. A Chosen African Prose
F. 2 Chosen African Poetry(Poems) x3
G. A Chosen Non-African Drama
H. A Chosen Non-African Prose
I. 2 Chosen Non-African Poetry(Poems) x3.
*BREAKDOWN*
11 topics × 15 mins
=165mins × 2 experts
= 330 mins
= 5 & a half hours recording into a DVD/subject...
7. While anticipating responses to our proposal from the chosen institutions, by evening of Tuesday, 27th July 2021, we wish to request interested volunteers(Instructors/Teachers/Specialists) to kindly:
A. spread/share this piece of information to all relevant quaters,
B. suggest to us more institutions that may be interested in a collaboration with us,
C. indicate interest to participate before 9am of Monday, 26th July 2021, and
D. state their area(s) of strength as well as affirm that soft copies of their presentation would be ready before midnight of Thursday, 29th July 2021
8. Terms of reference would be discussed/deliberated upon on the special platform created for that purpose!
