The Africa Debate Cup is raising a generation that leads.

Preparation extends beyond the classroom.
Students step into industries.
Students meet experts.
Students listen to leaders.

The Africa Debate Cup organizational tour places students in spaces shaping the economy. Factory floors. Industry offices. Policy rooms. Each visit gives context for the arguments they present on stage.

Last year, students visited Cargill Ghana Limited, a leading cocoa processing company that sources beans directly from Ghanaian farmers and produces cocoa powder and butter for both local and international markets.

The theme focused on a key national asset:
“From farm to factory to fortune: what cocoa means to Ghana.”

This year raises the standard. Bigger stage. Broader impact. Stronger voices.

What happens when young people are given a platform to think, speak, and challenge ideas?

Our Ibadan debate session captures the energy, courage, and intellectual curiosity that define the Africa Debate Cup. Through debate, students develop confidence, leadership skills, and the ability to think critically about real issues.

We believe Africa’s future leaders are already among us they just need the opportunity to find their voice.

What do you think debate teaches young people the most?

Africa Debate Cup visited Osu Presbyterian Preparatory School in Accra-Ghana to review last year’s event and present the 2026 programme.

We engaged school leadership and students and gathered clear and practical feedback to strengthen delivery.

Africa Debate Cup moves forward with structure and clarity aligned with the Africa Debate Cup’s mission to empower young learners with exposure, confidence and the curiosity to explore beyond the classroom.

On November 6, 2025, the Africa Debate Cup team took students from Osu Presbyterian Preparatory School and Prospect International School on an exciting tour of Cargill Cocoa and Chocolate Ghana Limited where they explored how cocoa travels from farm to factory to become the products we all enjoy.

The day ended with powerful student presentations on the theme “From Farm to Factory to Fortune: What Does Cocoa Mean to Ghana?”

The experience was engaging, enlightening, and aligned with the Africa Debate Cup’s mission to empower young learners with exposure, confidence, and the curiosity to explore beyond the classroom.

A day of learning, exposure, and big ideas!

Yesterday marked a remarkable milestone for the Africa Debate Cup initiative, as we successfully hosted an exclusive luncheon-a carefully curated gathering of distinguished executives, leaders and educators, united by a shared purpose: to shape the future by investing in Africa’s emerging leaders.

In an intimate and inspiring setting, we had the distinct honor of engaging with visionary industry leaders who share a powerful commitment to youth development and leadership across the continent. Together, we had the most thought-provoking conversation around nurturing young leaders—the dialogue was rich, honest, and forward-thinking.

We’re especially grateful to our esteemed guests, whose voices added depth, and whose presence affirmed the importance of this mission. Your belief in this cause continues to fuel our drive and strengthen our impact.

To the phenomenal Africa Debate Cup team, thank you for your hard work behind the scenes. Your passion and perseverance made this vision a reality.

This is more than an event—it’s a movement. One conversation at a time, we are building the future of African leadership.

"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has."
— Margaret Mead
