*SWOT analysis on the JAPA syndrome in Nigeria*

The major downside to the JAPA syndrome is the Brain drain. That is, losing more competent and experience staff who had probably relocated in search of greener pastures creates a large knowledge gap in the industry and country at large as those who understands 'how to do the job' are very few in the country. Most organizations would do whatever it takes to retain high performing & competent staff. Note that training a new crop of competent staff requires 'time & patience'.

What can be done differently?
Let's take the bull by the horns. It won't be easy! High performing staff relocating to the UK is actually beneficial to all concerned stakeholders if carefully harnessed.
