Happy International Day of the boy child to my sons and to every boy all over the world.
Alot to say,but in a nut shell, boys need role models in all areas.Men and women they can imitate their lifestyle and emulate their character.
One erroneous notion I would like to correct is this:
"Boys do not cry,be a man, males do not cry'
Please are they not human beings with emotions?Science has proven that men who hold their emotions have:
1)Disrupted communication with people in their lives
2)Disrupts the normal function of stress hormones
3)Mental Illness
4)Physical Stress
5)Anxiety
6)Depression
7)Other stress related illness
Boys are told from an early age to hide these emotions which eventually creates a dysfunctional environment.
A child's growth and development are divided into 5(physical,intellectual,language,EMOTIONAL and social).
Emotional development is an integral aspect.
Let us raise wholesome children.

Goodmorning friends.
My youngest son is a natural athlete. He has always won mainly gold medals since his preschool days, very few silver. Now in elementary school, still winning the gold medals.
His school had their inter-house sports competition this month and he was in the second position, the student that was in the first position, came to apologise for being first and for displacing my son.
What!I was shocked!I told him you worked hard and you deserve it,be totally unapologetic about your wins dear.
This reminded me of the tennis tournament(U.S Open Final) between Osaka and Serena.Osaka was sorry for defeating Serena. She felt bad for her win.She said she felt she had to apologise.
Parenting comes in all manners of teaching, first we need to teach children to achieve their goals then we also need to tell them to wholeheartedly embrace the win.
Parenting is indeed multifaceted and dynamic.

Still in the season of Easter,as we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.Do your children know the essence of Easter?Or is it just another holiday time,no homework, playing games, outings and eating yummy meals?
As parents,it's our duty to explain the meaning to them (not just the Sunday school teachers),making the explanation age appropriate.I bought a CD about Easter for my then two and a half year old son to reinforce my explanation. He still remembers till date,(he's twelve now). Happy Easter everyone, may the ressurection power of Jesus be experienced in our daily lives in Jesus Name-Amen.

Hello friends, let us endeavour to teach our children to be kind to all.My younger son was in junior elementary and there was a boy in his class,Harry(not real name). He was a special needs child and confined to a wheel chair but his smile could light up any room.I was intentional about greeting him each afternoon and as usual he greeted me with a lovely smile, waving and calling me.
As I walked away with my son,I asked him what Harry does during recess. He said he just sits and watches all of us play.I told my son that let's include Harry tomorrow during playtime by running around his chair, tell your friends to play peekaboo or hide and seek around his chair so he is also involved.
My son told me the next day that Harry was so ecstatic,he laughed, clapped and was beaming with smiles all through playtime. He said everyone played around him and they will continue to do so.I told him that was so kind of them all.He became my son's very good friend, attended his birthday parties, chat with him on zoom etc.
Parenting indeed is not easy but I have learnt that you cannot give what you do not have.As adults,we need to be deliberate about our character before this transcends to our children.May God help us all.
'Every child is a champion and unique'

Hello friends,I put up this post on my stories lastweek and someone said,
'Why are you doing this, she even has more followers than you,yet you're broadcasting her page'?
Wow!I shudder at people that are mentally myopic in their reasoning.Focus on the laudable achievements.
A win for my friend is a win for me.
What type of values are we teaching the younger ones?Children learn consciously and unconsciously from adults, they absorb everything from you.We need to be mindful of this.
Giving people their flowers is an intentional habit for me,complement, see good in others and ask for help if you need assistance.
Healing the world begins with you,do you agree?

Fun activities to do with your children on a lovely rainy day.Baking, children love to mix, measure, knead the dough, roll the dough, grease the pan, just name it.
I enjoyed making all these with my children,it was also a great time to learn, Mathematics (calculating the time for the dough to rise and time to it takes to bake),social development (taking turns)teamwork, division of labour and it was just a great bonding time.
Go on try it out,and with this cool weather, mix a cup of hot chocolate and have a great weekend.

Hello friends, this is my confession for our beloved country.
God bless Nigeria,he still reigns and rules in the affairs of our land.
One of my students(in diaspora)analysed the electoral process for 10 minutes, telling me her perspective of everything, then she concluded by saying,
'Do you think it was truly a free and fair election'?
This tells me one thing, these children know and are so proud of their root. They are watching, listening and learning either consciously or unconsciously.I had to listen and digress from our lesson.
Let us make them proud, give them profound words to say about their origin wherever they find themselves in the world.Make Nigeria great again.

Hello friends, are you aware that there are benefits in crying when one is overwhelmed?
Mrs Ajulo complained bitterly with tears streaming down her cheeks, never for once did I tell her to stop but I said soothing words.
Emotional tears out of all the three types of tears contain the stress hormones than other types of tears,it is shed when pain becomes unbearable,it brings ease from physical and emotional pain.
I encouraged and motivated her,she left my office with a smile and a renewed hope.
The result is the conversation above.
I take no credit for all the hard work done on her daughter, the credit goes to mastersmarkschool.
Every child is a champion and unique.

Hello friends, yes!we all know him.Lionel Messi, the seven-time Balloon d'or winner. Why does he point his index fingers to the sky as he walks back to the centre-circle?
Index fingers represents sense of self, leadership and authority. He honours his grandmother being the heartbeat of his successful career.
Messi's late grandmother(Celia Maria Cuccittini) had a huge influence in his life, she took Messi, his cousins and brother for football practise in the neighbourhood club.Messi was one of the youngest,so he wasn't in any team. One day,a team needed a player and grandma told the manager to allow Messi play.He refused and rejected Messi.
Let's take a look at what she did:
*She believed in his abilities even though he was one of the youngest.
*She saw an opportunity for Messi
*She was loved in the neighbourhood
*She was persistent, intentional, didn't stop demanding from the manager
*She displayed a dogged determination
*She followed through with Messi's training till she died.
These are the qualities to possess as a teacher with a passionate heart.Do not give up on that child.
These are the qualities to possess as human being, wish people well, as much as you can, help with referrals, mentors, opportunities that will benefit your friend, family, colleague etc.
Kindness is a seed,Celia wouldn't have imagined that her good character was going to be harvested by her grandson.
Imagine if she had the character of Patience Ozokwo who is a veteran actress, best known for her wicked roles in our Nollywood movies?
