I am Nwankwo Blessing. The National Project Coordinator of the Edutowers Young Readers Club - a nation-wide literary club (with focus on reading and writing) targeted at removing the shame and Inferiority complex associated with poor reading skills amongst the Nigerian school based youths and rejuvenating the culture of reading.

We work to help the children fight poor reading shame and inferiority complex by improving their reading skills, expand their vocabulary, spelling and creative writing. Countless school going children are dying in silent shame just because they couldn’t read well! We don’t want them to continue seeing themselves as unable, unfit or less capable when it comes to reading.

Episode 2: Montessori- The Method
Dr Maria Montessori spent her entire life trying to understand how and why children learn. She believed that applying the right educational methods could help children with special needs improve their physical and mental health. She noticed that these special kids used their hands to learn about their environment

The core of her theory is that using hands and senses leads to intellectual development and this is a way special kids learn about the world and later use the gained knowledge to develop abstract thinking.
After working with special needs children for several years, Dr. Maria Montessori applied her educational methods to normal kids and the results were successful. Thus, proving that all children were capable of achieving independent learning. These, in turn became the key principles of the Montessori Method and a great approach to children learning.

A year of endless possibilities and collaboration.

Welcome to a new month, new year that will be filled with great tips to help you succeed in your constituencies ( classrooms) using the Montessori Method.
