IN THE NAME OF ALLAH THE MOST BENEFICENT THE MOST MERCIFUL
*BEING THE NEW ISLAMIC YEAR MESSAGE TITLED AS MOMENT OF REFLECTIONS BETWEEN OUTGOING 1442AH AND INCOMING 1443AH*
All Praises belong to Allah, alternates the night and the day. In His alternation of nights and days, indeed, there are lessons for people that can *reflect*. May the Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon the messenger of Allaah and his good family, and his righteous companions.
Tonight as the 30th night of the last month in 1442AH would mark the last day of the year and eve of the new Islamic year, 1443AH, *it is high time you and I underwent a moment of reflections between the two years.*
As seconds, minutes, days and nights, weeks, months and years pass by, our *own lifetime* passes away. So let us reflect!
*1st Reflection: Taking Lessons from the Frequent Passage of Time*
It was like yesterday that we began 1442AH and before we know it, three hundred and sixty days were gone just like Allaah’s messenger said that the end time will not come *until the lifetime will be fast spent to the extent that a year would be like a month, a month would be like a jumu’ah ( a week) and a week like a day and a day like second*…Abu Daawud and Tirmidhi reported. This dunya only comprises moments which constitutes our lifetime which is bound to be exhausted before those moments get exhausted. *How can a sane person relate to this transient mortal as if he would be there living forever?!* How many are those whose hearts are so attached to this dunya that they thought they would be immortal in it. So they lived for it, and they endeavored to obtain all their comforts and pleasures until when death cuts off their joys, destroys their pleasures, and takes them away from their loved friends and family.
*2nd Reflection: Holding Oneself Accountable for One’s Past to Better One’s Tomorrow*
If a well thinking man realizes the reality of this dunya, he must take a sober reflection with himself and take account of what has passed in his life time especially in the last one year. *This is because Allaah Almighty is on the lookout for him, and He will hold the him accountable for the minor and the major*. “Oh, woe to us! What is this book that does not leave small or great but that it counts it and finds what they have done and is present at your presence?” [18:49]
It is a sign of a person’s wisdom to lighten his burdens on a long journey by hastening to hold himself accountable and weigh his deeds, before the day of reckoning comes.
*Last Reflection: Hastening to Repentance and Seeking Allaah’s Forgiveness*
The wisdom of God Almighty necessitated that we fall into guilt and sin in the course of our worldly life, and from His kindness and mercy to us is that He prescribed for us repentance and seeking forgiveness, so that He would forgive us and erase the effects of our bad deeds; Everyone who falls into something that angers God and necessitates His wrath and punishment must hasten to repent, and persist in seeking forgiveness before death suddenly comes to him.
*The attainment of a new year is an opportunity to correct one’s negligence and shortcomings.*
🤩🤩🤩We pray Allaah spare our lives to witness the new hijra year and preserve upon goodness, aameen.🤩🤩
```Sub-hanakaLlahumma wabihamdik, astagfiruka wa atuubu ‘ilayk.```
