I awoke to an abrupt alarm that a serpent had infiltrated my property. I am grateful that the individual who raised the alert remained composed enough to provide precise details regarding the snake's location, size, and appearance. The slithering creature rested comfortably behind my door after having feasted on either a lizard or rat. In any case, I killed the snake, but that's not what I want to address.
Our climate has changed and it is probable that Lagos will experience heavy rainfall in numerous areas from September through November. Wetlands encompass Lagos. It is entirely false to assume that snakes cannot enter your home. When floods arise, they offer reptiles opportunities to relocate from their natural habitats into other regions. Displaced reptiles search for available shelters such as trees, crevices, and any spot offering warm accommodations with nearby food sources.
It is vital to maintain cleanliness in our surroundings and dispose of waste appropriately. Do not become excessively preoccupied with the layout of your living quarters since snakes can migrate into unfamiliar territories without warning. Regularly declutter your environment and refrain from leaving old books, clothes or other materials piled up in storage spaces.

However, if you decide to retain them within close proximity, ensure their trunks remain tidy at all times.
For individuals residing near marshes, always carry a bright torch when using the toilet during nighttime hours. Also, examine toilet rails along with iron bars situated over windowsills, among other potential entry points around your residence, regularly.
If you discover scales within your home or suspect that snakes could arrive soon, blend garlic alongside onions mixed with salt together. Researchers have confirmed that most reptiles find blends containing the aroma of genus allium paired with salt repugnant.
Stay safe!
