*BUILDING HEALTHY COMMUNICATION IN MARRIAGE*

*BIBLE READING: COLOSSIANS 4:6; PROVERBS 31:26; EPHESIANS 5:29-30; PROVERBS 12:18*

*“She openeth her mouth with Wisdom; and in her tongue is the Law of Kindness.” Proverbs 31:26 (KJV)*

It is an undisputable Truth across board that the life wire of every Relationship that exists is Communication. In fact, Communication is to every relationship what blood is to the human body. It runs its course through every area of relationships, including Marriage, because anytime there is a Communication breach, it destroys many things and gives the enemy a loophole to strike *(Eph. 5:29-30).* We need to understand that there are two major and distinct categories of Communication i.e., Verbal and Non-Verbal Communication. The term "Communication" could be defined as *"the ability to transmit thoughts and perceptions between two people or parties."* While studying male and female differences, we discover that women have a tendency to communicate emotionally i.e., based on how they feel, whereas men tend to communicate logically i.e., based on thinking and reasoning hence the latter operate more with cold hard facts. It is worthy of note that we often tend to interpret things based on how WE ARE rather than the way THEY ARE. This is a typical instance of the Law of Perception.

There are Three Fundamental Carriers of any Effective Communication which we must understand in order to foster Greater Love and Harmony with our spouses. Each of them is a critical determining factor behind either every breakthrough or breakdown in Communication:

*1. THE ACTUAL CONTENT:* This refers to those words which are articulated or spoken expressly in the hearing of others *(Job 6:25).* This makes up 7% of every Effective Communication. Words possess the ability to heal as well as kill or damage your spouse's self esteem *(Prov. 12:18).* This is why it's very important to hold your tongue

PRAY WITH SCRIPTURE — AIM YOUR PRAYERS

Prayer is not merely about speaking many words; effective prayer is praying according to the Word of God.

When you pray with Scripture, you are not praying from fear, assumption, or emotion. You are bringing God's Word into the situation and standing on what He has already said.

The Bible says:

“So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void…” — Isaiah 55:11

Think of Scripture as ammunition. Knowing the Word gives direction to your prayers. Instead of saying, “Lord, I don't know what to do,” find what God has said concerning that situation and pray it deliberately.

If you are praying for healing, pray the promises of healing.
If you are praying for provision, pray the Scriptures concerning God's provision.
If you are praying concerning your family, pray God's Word over your household.
If you are confronting fear, declare what Scripture says about courage and faith.

Don't just pray generally—pray specifically.

Find the Scripture.
Understand the promise.
Believe the Word.
Pray it with faith.
Keep standing until the answer comes.

YESTERDAY, WE HAD A REASON TO BE GRATEFUL. 🙌🏽

It wasn’t just another Sunday. It was a moment to pause, look back, and say, “Ebenezer — thus far, the Lord has helped us.”

From the first note of worship to the sound of heartfelt thanksgiving, Shibiri came alive with an atmosphere of gratitude, joy, praise, and deep reflection.

We celebrated the victories we could see, the battles God fought for us in secret, the prayers He answered, and even the seasons that taught us to trust Him more.

Our Mid-Year Thanksgiving was a reminder: we may not be where we want to be yet, but we are certainly not where we started.

And if God has brought us this far in the first half of the year, then there is still so much more ahead. 🔥

Yesterday was gratitude.
Today is grace.
Tomorrow is expectation.
