AN APPEAL TO OUR OBA OF BENIN

Dr. Osaren Emokpae, the Presiding Bishop of Macedonia Call Global Assembly in a message in one of his recent ministrations used the opportunity to appeal to the Ọmọ Nẹ Ọba, Nẹ Ẹdo, Uku Akpọlọkpọlọ, Ogie Mwa Nẹ Ọ Yan Umogun, Ọba Ẹwuare, the 2nd of Benin to sheath sword, forgive all his prodigal siblings and restore them.
One of the greatest kings in the Benin Kingdom had a number of children among whom was Olua, who became king after him.
Olua had two Children, Ọhọn and Iginua.

The two sons were warriors, dispatched to the North and South of Ẹdo Kingdom.

Ọhọn and Iginua were dispatched to the South and North respectively to ward off enemies coming from those regions. The two conquered so much land, but chose not to return to Benin.
Ọhọn settled in Ehọ (Ehor) and Iginua settled in Warri.

When their father died, both refused to return to Benin city.
Ọhọn became Enogie of Ehor and Iginua became the Olu of Warri.

The Junior brother of Olua became King whose lineage produced the present Oba of Benin.

The current challenge in Benin has to do with cousins and siblings rivalry and we as ministers of God and men of good will are enjoined to do three things in a situation like this:

1. To pray for the rulers to rule with wisdom and fear of God.

2. To draw the attention of these rulers to give their lives to Jesus, the King of kings and
Lord of Lords, for them to behave like King David, who did God’s will in His generation.

3. That rulers should intentionally focus on God’s will, take their eyes off, the love of money, divisive politicians
and foster peace and unity among themselves.

My great, great grandfather who was prince Ọhọn was a man of peace in the Benin monarchy, and so with the blood of peace from Jesus running in my vein, I am appealing to the Ọba of Benin to forgive infractions of his siblings, reconcile them to avoid possible monarchical implosion and final breakup of the Benin Kingdom, which is becoming smaller and smaller by the day.

We need to keep the kingdom alive in brotherly love before the return of the King of Kings and Lord of lords Jesus Christ.

May the Oba of Benin dwell on the wisdom of of King Solomon and peacefully bring the Enigies who are his family together in unity and love.

Ọmwa ke ọmwa nẹ Ọ maa i he ruu ẹmwin abareku ke "OTỌ" gha de, we nẹ ọ niẹ obọ ghe odokhun ghee.

Emwin ọ yan unu rua bun gbe vbe ẹvbo ima na.
Osa nẹ Ebaba, gbe ebe ruẹ gue ima hia.
