First Impressions in French

In French culture, the way you greet someone reflects your respect, confidence, and cultural awareness.

🔹 Bonjour — Used from morning until late afternoon
🔹 Bonsoir — Used in the evening
🔹 Salut — Informal (friends, classmates, peers)

In France, greeting correctly is not optional it is expected.
A simple “Bonjour” before speaking can completely change how you are perceived.

NAFT Annual Conference 2025

Today’s conference was eye-opening and inspiring. As a foreign language teacher, I learned how much passion, patience, and determination shape students’ motivation in the French classroom. The sessions emphasized using teaching aids, creative methods, and intentional strategies to keep learners curious, engaged, and confident. Overall, the event was a strong reminder that with the right approach, we can transform the secondary school French classroom into a space where students feel motivated, involved, and excited to learn.
