Happy New Month!

This is another opportunity to take the necessary steps forward.

01/01/2024

Happy New Year

I welcome you to 2024, and I am glad we made it to the new year. And I pray that the blessings of the new year be fulfilled in your life.

But one thing I want to let you know is that your outcome this year is solely depended on you, so you have the responsibility to make it your best year. I understand the part of committing our plans to God's hand. It is great to work in God's plan, but God has also given us the ability to choose. While setting your plans, goals and expectations for the new year, first ensure that it is aligned with the will of God for you. Then secondly, work it out.

The year has started counting, and your decisions on a daily basis will determine the outcome of your year. It is my sincere desire, that you become an executioner - one who executes their goals without over analysing. Be ready to take action, that might be the singular decision with the capability to transform your life..

Do not be afraid to take action, and be ready to take responsibility for your actions.

In addition to your goals, please find a way to incorporate the following goals in your plans:

1. SPIRITUAL GOALS
2. PERSONAL GOALS
3. FINANCIAL GOALS
4. PROFESSIONAL GOALS
5. RELATIONSHIP GOALS
6. SOCIAL IMPACT GOALS - Your life need to start counting.

To your prosperity,

Day 1: Alphabet A

Awareness:
To begin this series is this all important subject matter of awareness. In this case self-awareness.

We are not born with complete knowledge of who we are, it is something we learn about as we progress and grow. Just the way children takes time to adapt to their environment, and be able to distinguish between who their parents are and who their parents are not, as adults, we can grow to distinguish between who we really are, and who we are not.

Self-awareness is very critical in the journey of personal growth, because every other thing, rests on it. But what does it really mean to be self-aware? Or what should we really know about ourselves to drive us towards the journey of purpose discovery?

Before we start, I would want to let us know that self-discovery isn't about conforming to norms or societal beliefs. What people feel about you, or expect from you. What I mean is this, as an individual, you are distinct from the other person next to you, and it is this uniqueness that sets you apart. So, you have to embrace that uniqueness.

To know oneself or become aware of oneself, you need to know what makes you who you are. Your strengths, your weaknesses, your emotions, your beliefs (what are your beliefs?), Your values.

There are three essential Ws in the journey of self-awareness.

1. Where are you coming from? How have your experiences, your background, your environment, shaped you? What do you know about where you are coming from? And what can you say about it? What is your story? If you are asked to write a story about yourself with you as the main character, what would the story be? How has where you are coming from affected or impacted beliefs on you? What do you feel your abilities are, how did they form?

Please get a pen and paper and write these down.

One thing about self-awareness is introspection. It is not something that happens once. No, it takes time, but it is a sweet ride.

2. Where are you now? What lights up your heart? That's your passion. Write it down. What aspects of your life have you grown or have become stronger in? In the present, what are your weak points? We need to realize that we change every day, so, we should also evolve in our knowledge about ourselves. What is your current reality? Are you happy with it? Can you do better? Are you responsible for your current reality or someone else is responsible?

Self -awareness also involved taking responsibility of your current state, you are the architect of your life. Even though you were disadvantaged or didn't have all the resources at your disposal, what did you do with what you had?

3. Where are you going? The last W in our today's discuss. Where are you going? If you are to become anything in life, what would it be? If you have the ability to change your life to become exactly what you desire, what will that be? If you have all the resources available, and can snap your finger and get whatever you want, how can it be beneficial to the society? What one solution will you solve? Assuming you are to take care of a situation you don't like, what would you be taking care of? Who do you look up to? What ar your goals and aspirations?

Little exercise to help you become self-aware

1. Self-reflection : What have you found about yourself? Do you love yourself? How can you be more kind to yourself?

2. Meditation and mindfulness : Practice meditation and mindfulness.

3. Journaling: If I were you, I will read this write up again, this time with a pen and paper. Taking notes and answering questions as they pop up in my heart.

To your prosperity,

The Need for Self-Confidence: A Guide for Nigerian Youths

Self-confidence is a vital trait that every young person needs to develop, regardless of their background or circumstances. It is a trait that allows you to believe in yourself, your abilities, and your worth, and it helps you to navigate life's challenges with resilience and courage.

For young Nigerians self-confidence is even more critical, given the social, economic, and political challenges facing the country. In this article, we will explore the need for self-confidence and offer some tips on how to develop it.

πŸ“Œ Self-Confidence helps you to take risks:

One of the significant benefits of self-confidence is that it allows you to take risks, to step outside of your comfort zone and try new things. Whether it's starting a new business, pursuing a passion, or taking on a leadership role, self-confidence gives you the courage to take action, even when the outcome is uncertain.

πŸ“Œ Self-Confidence enhances your relationships:

Self-confidence also plays a critical role in building healthy relationships. When you have confidence in yourself, you are more likely to express your thoughts and feelings openly, set boundaries, and communicate effectively. This allows you to build deeper, more meaningful connections with others and to avoid toxic relationships.

πŸ“Œ Self-Confidence boosts your mental health:

Low self-confidence can lead to negative self-talk, anxiety, and depression. On the other hand, high self-confidence can improve your mental health and well-being, making it easier to cope with stress and adversity.

πŸ“Œ Self-Confidence helps you to achieve your goals:

Finally, self-confidence is essential for achieving your goals. When you believe in yourself and your abilities, you are more likely to set ambitious goals and pursue them with determination. This can lead to greater success in all areas of your life, from your education to your career and personal relationships.

So, how can you develop self-confidence? Here are some tips:

Identify your strengths and weaknesses and work to improve them.
Surround yourself with supportive people who believe in you.
Practice self-care, including regular exercise, healthy eating, and getting enough rest.
Learn new skills and challenge yourself to step outside of your comfort zone.
Celebrate your successes, no matter how small, and learn from your failures.

In conclusion, self-confidence is a critical trait for young Nigerians to develop. It can help you to take risks, build healthy relationships, boost your mental health, and achieve your goals. By practicing self-care, learning new skills, and surrounding yourself with supportive people, you can develop the self-confidence you need to succeed in life.

7 Goal Setting Mistakes To Avoid

Are you struggling to follow through with your goals? Do you set goals but don't achieve them at the end of the day? Do you wish to be a goal getter? Avoiding these 7 deadly mistakes should be your priority.

1. Not defining your goal clearly.
One step towards the achievement of any goal is proper articulation and clarity of what your goals should be. If you don't understand your goals, who will do that for you?

2. Not setting a specific deadline for your goals.
Fight procrastination with everything within you, set deadlines so that you can avoid the temptation of being a creative procrastinator. Set deadlines, follow them religiously and stay disciplined to work towards that deadline.

3. Not taking actions
Goals are mere wishes if not backed up with action. You must be bold to take steps daily to achieve your goals.

4. Not celebrating your little wins.
There is temptation to focus on the big picture and forget that you should celebrate yourself for the little progress you have made so far. You deserve a treat. Take yourself out. Reward yourself.

5. Not breaking down your goals to smaller bits.
Don't be decieved, break down your goals to smaller achievable bits that can be easy for you to achieve and implement. Dream big, but start with where you are. Take baby steps if need be, and work towards it.

6. No accountability and monitoring.
When there is no accountability and monitoring we tend not to be at our best, but when we get an accountability partner, they help us stay focused, disciplined and clear with zest to achieve our goals.

7. Trying to do everything yourself.
My guy, you cannot do everything. Even though it is your goal, you still need people to be part of it. There are roles people ought to play in the achievement of your goals. Who are they? What skills do you need but don't have that others have that you need? Who and who can become part of your team to enable you reach your goal?

Avoiding these mistakes will help you stay true to your goal and help you achieve your goals.

Cheers to a productive 2023
Okechukwu Francis Okoronkwo.

The mid week is here again, a time where almost everyone looks forward to the weekend to relax and rejuvenate for the coming week.

At this point, many people switches off as if someone mistakenly toggled the power switch off, and the once productive person who entered the week with zest and enthusiasm becomes a little bit redundant and do no longer function with the high energy he started the week with.

The BIG question now is, how to you maintain a sense of productivity till the weekend, or remain highly productive till the weekend?

To keep up with the same energy, dedicate an hour or two for deep work. To engage in deep work, you need to shut down all sources of noise completely, including your phone, focus on tasks that demands urgent attention and work on them. Break down your schedules and follow them diligently. And do not try to venture into another task if you are not yet done with the current one. This way, you will discover that your energy level increases, you will also discover that you will achieve more result, you will discover too that you will get more done in less minutes.

Get your energy refilled before going for the weekend. You still have today and till Friday to create magic in your office or organization.
