On the 24th of Jan., 2025, I and one of ABSL Fashion Institute Students had the privilege of attending the first inaugural ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) Workshop organized by the Office of the Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Climate Change and Circular Economy

This event was an eye-opener, underscoring the urgent need for businesses across sectors to embed sustainability at their core.

As a fashion entrepreneur deeply committed to eco-conscious practices, the insights shared resonated deeply with me.

The discussions on reducing environmental footprints, fostering resource efficiency, and embracing circularity reinforced the value of our ongoing efforts at Ibileclothiers

From our focus on fabric waste minimization to repurposing scraps into new products and promoting garment rentals, the workshop affirmed that we are on the right path.

More importantly, the workshop emphasized the critical role fashion businesses play in combating climate change.

It challenged me to further align our operations with sustainable principles, explore innovative recycling techniques, and amplify advocacy for a greener industry.

The Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Climate Change and Circular Economy, Mrs Titilayo Oshodi in her keynote, emphasised on the need to build and grow a community of change makers.

This experience has not only strengthened my commitment to building a resilient, sustainable brand but also inspired me to collaborate more actively with like-minded stakeholders to drive positive change in our industry and community.

Kudos to the Lagos State Government for this timely and impactful initiative! 👍
