Emir of Lafia, Justice Sidi Muhammad Bage l (Rtd) has expressed fear over behaviors of the younger generations, asserting that more should be done to bequeath the youths with better tomorrow.
Bage said leaders needed to concentrate on equipping the generations with better education, adding that the changing world needs people who can prove their worth to secure opportunities.
He disclosed this during an exclusive interview with Nasarawa Newsline, noting that idleness could make them easy recruits to criminality, which is anti-development.

Emir of Lafia, Justice Sidi Muhammad Bage l (Rtd) has expressed satisfaction with the leadership qualities of the Aren Eggon, Justice Ahmed Ubangari Alaku l (Rtd), describing him as bosom friend and disciplined leader.
Bage, who is the Chairman of the Nasarawa State Council of Chiefs, stated this during an exclusive interview with Nasarawa Newsline, noting that his personal relationship with the Eggon monarch spanned virtually five decades.
The Aren Eggon, the paramount ruler of the Eggon nation, would be formally installed and presented with a staff of office by the Nasarawa State Government on 13th June, 2026.

All Progressives Congress (APC)’s candidate for Nasarawa West in the forthcoming general election, Dr. Faisal Shuaib, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Prof. Silas Gyar, former Rector of Isa Mustapha Agwai I Polytechnic Lafia and Chairman of the Wadada Campaign Council.
In a statement, Dr. Shuaib described Prof. Gyar as “an erudite scholar, administrator, and political strategist whose contributions to education and Nasarawa politics were immeasurable.”
He condoled with Senator Ahmed Wadada Aliyu, the Wadada Campaign Council, loyalists and supporters, noting that Prof. Gyar’s counsel and commitment were central to their political mobilization.
Dr. Shuaib also extended sympathy to the Mada nation, the bereaved family, and the Nasarawa State University Keffi community where Prof. Gyar served with distinction.
“His death is a huge loss to academia and Nasarawa West. May Almighty God forgive his shortcomings and grant him eternal rest,” he prayed.
He urged all to take solace in Prof. Gyar’s legacy of service, integrity and dedication to Nasarawa’s development.

Since assuming office, the Nasarawa State Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Comrade Salihu Mohammed Alkali has embarked on a series of reforms aimed at restoring public trust, improving professional standards, and securing the welfare of journalists across the state.
The interventions, according to union officials, are a response to mounting challenges facing the media industry: shrinking revenues, ethical breaches, attacks on journalists, and the disruptive impact of digital media.
