DAY 3: THE SHIELD OF TAQWA
Fasting is not merely abstaining from food and drink; it is a shield that protects us from sin and builds taqwa in our hearts. Let this Ramadan fortify your soul against temptations and strengthen your consciousness of Allah in every moment.
"O you who have believed, fasting has been prescribed for you as it was prescribed for those before you, that you may attain taqwa."
(Surah Al-Baqarah: 183)
"Fasting is a shield. So when one of you is fasting, let him not speak obscenely or raise his voice."
(Narrated by Al-Bukhari and Muslim)
Du'a:
"O Allah, make my fasting a shield from the Fire, and make it a means for my taqwa. Help me guard my limbs and purify my heart. Ameen."
