Story time! Story time! Story time!

Let me tell y'all a story on how I started crocheting or as most of you call it knitting
Crochet has always been a hobby for me before it became my business.
It all started while I was in JS 1. This was were most of us were introduced to the basic aspect of it. There was this subject we were offerings called PVS (pre vocational studies) it was about learning some basic skills and vocations like stitching and the rest. Fortunately knitting was also part of it. I still remember the girls that single handedly taught me, Favour Yakubu, Dorcas Yakubu and Glory Daniel (shout out to them wherever they are) They taught me how to make net cap and bag. This was where I got first hand knowledge about crocheting.
Throughout my secondary school journey I played here and there with making bags and caps. I remember one of the stupid things I did to get yarns, I tried loosing my school cardigan so I could use the yarn to make something else. LOL that was a flop because I just ended up spoiling the cardigan. I developed so much interest and love for crocheting to the extent that my hooks and yarns were seized in class by my teachers. At home I would crochet till my fingers started hurting. Sometimes I won't even eat.
After secondary school I didn't do much of crocheting. I focused on things like learning other skills and writing Jamb. When I got admitted into Uni I almost forgot I could crochet because of all the school stress. One day I saw a picture of a crochet top on IG and that was when I realised I used to crochet. I made that particular top and gifted it to my friend.
In 2022, I decided that I was going to turn my hobby to an actual business. When I got my first order I was so happy that I even undercharged πŸ˜‚. I'm so happy that I made that decision. It's funny how all the skills I paid money to learn are not where my money is coming from right now but it's that secondary school vocation I learnt for free. God works in wonders and in mysterious ways.
(Now the part where I get to be a motivational speaker) I'm not where I want to be yet but I'm grateful for where I am now. I'm so thankful to all those that has trusted me with their money and patronised me. I want to say if you have a skill or a hobby that you love doing why not put it out there for the world to see. You never know who might love it.
The end
