Kambarawa Academy Katsina Organises Capacity-Building Workshop for Staff on Phonics Book Authored by Its Director
Katsina, Nigeria — Kambarawa Academy Katsina has organised a special capacity-building workshop for its teaching staff on the newly introduced phonics book titled “Phonics for Early Learners – Introduction to Sounds”, authored by the School Director, Isah Rabe Kambarawa.
The workshop, held at the school premises, was designed to enhance teachers’ understanding of phonics and strengthen their ability to deliver effective early literacy instruction in the classroom.
In his opening remarks, the School Director, Isah Rabe Kambarawa, explained that the book was written to serve as a practical guide for early childhood educators in teaching pupils how to identify, pronounce, and blend sounds accurately — the foundational skills of reading and spelling.
He further emphasized that mastering phonics is essential for building strong literacy foundations among young learners, noting that teachers play a critical role in ensuring that pupils develop these skills with confidence and clarity.
Participants at the workshop expressed appreciation for the initiative, describing it as both enlightening and impactful, as it offered them hands-on techniques and classroom strategies for phonics instruction.
The session featured interactive demonstrations, group discussions, and practical exercises aimed at equipping teachers with modern, learner-centered approaches to teaching sounds.
