JAMB directs candidates to print 2020 results slips

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has directed candidates who sat for the 2020 Unified Tertiary Matriculations Examination to print their result slips .
The board said this in its weekly bulletin which was released by its Head of Media and Information , Dr Fabian Benjamin , on Sunday.
According to the bulletin , the UTME results , which had earlier been made available through text messages to candidates , could be printed from the board ’s website on request .
“All a candidate needs to do after visiting the site is to click on quick links , then on e -facility where the candidate would be required to provide his / her registration details and the result notification slip would be displayed for printing .
“The printing of the result notification slip is free as it is different from the original result slip that comes with the candidate ’s picture .”
Meanwhile , JAMB has said it will hold an online meeting with at least 4 ,000 heads of tertiary institutions over the policy guidelines for the 2020 admissions .
The board added that the virtual meeting was to guard against the spread of COVID - 19 and ensure decongestion .

General Instruction:
Read the registration steps carefully before
starting your online registration.
STAGE 1: ADMISSION LETTER PRINTING
PROCEDURE
1.0 For New Students Only (Undergraduate)
Click ( https://www.umyu.edu.ng/
ugadmission)
Click on the Print Admission Letter link,
supply your UTME No as your username and
password to print your admission letter then;
Click on the Print Other Forms link to print
associated documents for registration.
STAGE 2: REGISTRATION AND PAYMENT
PROCEDURE
2.0 For New Students Only (Undergraduate)
While still in STAGE 1 (on your personalised
Dashboard), click on Log On To Portal link to
access your student portal.
Make sure you upload your passport
photograph and signature in JPEG Format
(each not more than 100kb in size). Ensure
you provide your correct Email address,
Home Address and Phone Number.
*IMPORTANT NOTES
All students must upload their scanned
passport photograph (JPEG Format not more
than 100kb) and signature (JPEG Format not
more than 100kb), as a requirement for
online registration.
Once you have completed the profile update
as required, click on the ‘Save Profile’ button
at the bottom of the page. You will
automatically be redirected to the Payment
Page.
At this stage, a student proceeds to make
payment using the Paydirect Platform provided
by clicking on either of the following Payment
Options:
i. (i) Bank Branch (for this option, print the
transaction ID and take it to a Bank Branch
to pay) or
ii. (ii) Pay Now (for this option, use your ATM
card to pay online).

Welcome Address by the Vice Chancellor
for the 2018/2019 Academic Session
It is a great pleasure for me to welcome UMYU
students for the 2018/2019 session. The
session is starting much later than our normal
academic Calendar due to several reasons
including the disruption of academic activities
due to industrial action by academic staff.
Nevertheless we are all set now and we are
looking forward to a hitch free and successful
session.
The University management continues to
improve on the learning environment to enable
you study and interact very well in a conducive
atmosphere. Additional facilities are provided
while existing one are improved upon. The
facilities improved upon include lecture theatres,
classrooms, hostel and conveniences in both the
academic areas and the hostels.
For this session the e-learning package is
extended to Biochemistry, Chemistry,
Economics, English Language and Microbiology
programmes. This is in addition to that of the
Law programme which we are continuing.
We hope you will embrace the session with
determination to succeed in your studies with
excellent performance. While for the new
students in particular we hope you are coming
with the resolve to work hard, interact well with
the Umaru Musa Yar’adua University (UMYU)
community and be good ambassadors of your
family and community.

1. JAMB Admission:
The Joint Admission and Matriculation board –
JAMB as a body has the power to grant
admission to any student in any institutions
within the shore and soil of Nigeria whether or
not the candidate meet the school
requirements.
Jamb is responsible for over 4% of admission in
Nigeria institution and it’s one of the reason
while it’s important to check your jamb
admission status regularly . JAMB have the
names and scores of all UTME candidates and
few who meet the admission requirements will
be selected and will be given admission without
permission or approval from the Nigeria
institution.

Such candidates can visit the institution to
claim the admission given by JAMB, Though
sometimes these Student are rejected by the
Institution.
Since the introduction of JAMB CAPs – Central

Education) are required to submit list of
admitted student to JAMB for Upload.
2. School admission:
Upon conclusion of all necessary Exam – Post
UTME , Schools are meant to collect and
submit the names of qualified candidates to
jamb by following the admission quota has
stated by jamb. Any school that fails to abide
by the rules set by JAMB may find themselves
in situation whereby their admission list will be
rejected by jamb and a new names will have to
be drafted and resubmitted to jamb for final
approval.
Jamb will issue admission letter to all
candidates submitted by any institutions in
Nigeria and such candidates can use the
admission letter for present or future purpose.
