Capital City University Kano Strengthens International Collaboration with King Study Company, China
Capital City University Kano (CCUK), through its Centre for Innovation and Digital Skills (CIDS), today, 6th July 2026, formally signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with King Study Company, China, reaffirming the University's commitment to expanding international partnerships and promoting academic excellence, innovation, and global engagement.
The MoU signing ceremony was chaired by the Director of Academic Planning and Director, Centre for Innovation and Digital Skills (CIDS), Prof. Muhammad Lawan Kaurangini, who led the University's delegation in receiving the leadership of King Study Company, China.
Also in attendance were the University Registrar, Hajiya Rakiya Bello Dandago, the University Bursar, Lawan Sule, alongside principal officers and members of the University community, reflecting the institution's collective commitment to advancing strategic international collaborations.
The partnership is expected to facilitate academic and research collaboration, digital innovation, capacity building, student and staff development, as well as other mutually beneficial initiatives that will enhance the University's global outlook and strengthen its contribution to higher education.
The University's leadership reaffirmed its dedication to fostering meaningful international partnerships that create transformative opportunities for students, staff, and the wider community.

Kano State Ministry of Health and Capital City University, Kano Sign Strategic MoU to Enhance Health Sciences Training
Capital City University, Kano (CCUK) has recorded another significant milestone in its commitment to academic excellence and professional training through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Kano State Ministry of Health.
The MoU provides a framework for the clinical training of students in Nursing Science, Medical Laboratory Science, Pharmacy, Radiography, and Physiotherapy through clinical postings, clerkship programmes, ward rounds, and other practical training activities within healthcare facilities under the supervision of the Ministry.
The University delegation was led by the Vice-Chancellor of Capital City University, Kano, alongside the Registrar and members of the University Management Team. Upon arrival, they were warmly received by the Honourable Commissioner for Health, Kano State, accompanied by the Executive Secretary (ES) and other key stakeholders in the education and health sectors.
During the visit, the Honourable Commissioner for Health commended Capital City University, Kano for its steadfast commitment to quality education, Academic discipline, character development, and integrity. He noted that the University has continued to distinguish itself through adherence to regulatory standards and best practices, while maintaining a zero-tolerance stance against compromising academic and professional quality.
The Commissioner further expressed confidence in the University's vision and capacity to produce highly skilled, competent, and ethically grounded healthcare professionals capable of meeting the demands of modern healthcare delivery.
He reaffirmed the commitment of the Kano State Government towards supporting initiatives that strengthen tertiary education and healthcare services. In particular, he assured the University of the full support and cooperation of the Kano State Ministry of Health in ensuring the successful implementation of the objectives of the MoU.
According to him, the partnership will provide students with valuable practical exposure and hands-on clinical experience, thereby contributing significantly to the development of well-equipped and professionally trained healthcare practitioners who will serve Kano State, Nigeria, and the global community.
Speaking on behalf of the University, the Vice-Chancellor expressed appreciation to the Kano State Government, the Ministry of Education, and the Ministry of Health for their confidence in Capital City University, Kano. He reiterated the University's commitment to maintaining the highest standards of teaching, learning, research, and professional practice while fostering partnerships that enhance student development and national progress.
The signing of the MoU represents a major step forward in strengthening collaboration between academia and the healthcare sector, ensuring that students receive the practical training necessary to complement their academic studies and prepare them for successful professional careers.

Capital City University, Kano Hosts AMIS 2nd Students Leadership Summit 2026, Rewards Student for Exceptional Attentiveness and Academic Curiosity
Capital City University, Kano (CCUK) successfully hosted the 2nd Students Leadership Summit 2026, organised by the Association of Model Islamic Schools (AMIS), Kano State Chapter, bringing together students from member schools across Kano State for a two-day programme focused on leadership development, career guidance, and youth empowerment.
Held on 10th and 11th June 2026 (24th and 25th Zul Hijjah 1447AH) at the University's campus on Yusuf Maitama Sule/Dawaki Road, Nassara GRA, Kano, the summit was themed:
"Navigating Career Paths Towards Leadership Excellence: The Islamic Perspective."
The summit provided participants with opportunities to explore diverse career pathways, strengthen leadership and communication skills, develop sound decision-making abilities, and interact with accomplished professionals and mentors.
A notable highlight of the event was an interactive quiz conducted by the Personal Assistant to the Pro-Chancellor of Capital City University, Kano, During the session, Attahir Muhammad Dawood of Al-Absaar Academy distinguished himself by demonstrating exceptional attentiveness and academic curiosity. The student explained that his answer was informed by his careful observation of the University's environment and visual identity throughout the programme.
In recognition of his keen observation, intellectual engagement, and eagerness to learn, Capital City University, Kano (CCUK) rewarded the student with a cash gift of ₦20,000 (Twenty Thousand Naira). The award was formally presented during the closing ceremony.
The University's gesture underscores its commitment to fostering a culture of excellence, encouraging inquisitiveness, and recognising students who demonstrate attentiveness, critical thinking, and a passion for learning beyond the classroom. Capital City University, Kano Appoints His Highness Muhammadu Sanusi II as Visitor
Capital City University, Kano (CCUK) has formally appointed His Highness, Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi II, the Emir of Kano, as the Visitor to the University, marking a significant milestone in the institution's commitment to academic excellence, leadership, and community engagement.
A high-powered delegation comprising the Chairman of the Board of Trustees (BoT), the Vice-Chancellor, and the Registrar led the University's management team on a courtesy visit to the Emir's Palace in Kano, where the official letter of appointment was presented to His Highness.
The appointment reflects the University's deep respect for the Emir's distinguished contributions to education, public service, intellectual development, and national leadership. His Highness Muhammadu Sanusi II is widely recognised for his unwavering commitment to knowledge, social progress, and the advancement of education in Nigeria and beyond.
